4 out of 5 stars Nice toy flip phone for the kiddos!   October 12, 2009
F. R. Ilgin (Irving, TX USA)
Pretty rugged item...has been dropped a lot and still working. My boys seem to know the difference between a toy and the real thing and prefer handling my $[...] smartphone instead. Not the most educational but a decent toy anyway to distract them for awhile.

3 out of 5 stars Hard to open   October 11, 2009

I literally just bought this phone for $[...] (regular not sale or clearance price) at Walmart. I'm shocked they're asking $[...] here.

It's okay, but as a few other reviewers said, it's hard to open. This design flaw makes the phone more frustrating than fun for my child. The music is nice since most of the toy phones we looked at didn't play music.

4 out of 5 stars Wish It Had More Features   September 7, 2009
Rebecca (Los Angeles, CA)
this is a very cute phone. we bought it for our daugther in pink from Toys R Us. she likes to fold the phone closed. (that is her big thing lately, closing lids). we do a lot of pretend play, we me doing all the playing and her watching. i think it is fun. i wish there were a few more features. it says goodbye when you close it, it plays music when you hit the "dial" button, and the numbers each make a different sound when you press them. each time you unfold the phone, 1 of 3 characters shows up on the display. it doesn't seem like alot for a 15 dollar phone. but still, it is cute, and easy for my 9 month old to hold in her tiny hands.

4 out of 5 stars Fun for short periods, fairly durable   August 28, 2009

My 15-month old son received this phone as a gift when he was 6 months old. He didn't use it much back at 6 months, but steadily his interest in it grew. He always prefers to play with my cell phone, but if I spend 30 seconds or so talking on this toy one, he'll gladly take it for a little while.

It's not the kind of toy that can amuse a child for very long, maybe 5 minutes tops (which is why I knock it down 1 star), and it really doesn't teach much, but the compact size is perfect for throwing in your bag/stroller with a few other small toys for those moments when you need to pull out something to distract your child.

As others state, the greetings are nice, very clear. Every button makes a sound, and the music is both short and pleasant to the ear. I often find Fisher Price toys very poorly/cheaply made, but this one is really quite good. It's been dropped on our hardwood floors many times, and it still works almost perfectly (the music is slightly out of tune now, probably because of the internal battery wearing down).

5 out of 5 stars baby wants a phone!   June 28, 2009

Toddlers want to try everything they see their parents using, but are not ready for a real phone. This toy is fun, responds to little fingers, says "hello and goodbye", and stands up to getting thrown about. Very cute to see my grandson hold the phone up to his ear. Great fun for the money.
