My son has this at his preschool. He loved it so much we had to get it for his birthday. He gets to build his trucks either by following a pattern or by making up his own design. Then he gets to play with the trucks.

My 3-year-old twin sons received two of these sets for the holidays this year. They've never gone wild for other building toys, but I thought they might like these because they're crazy for trucks. Sure enough, they go nuts for these. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they're bigger/chunkier than I had thought -- they fit nicely into toddler/preschooler hands. I agree that some of the parts (like the sirens) could be a choking hazard for younger kids who still put things in their mouths.
Great, sturdy, creative building toy.

This is a nice toy for 2-3 year-old. My son enjoyed putting together "model" cars/trucks, and also came up with creative inventions of his own. The product stimulates creativity and interaction between parents and small children. The parts are very sturdy and brightly colored.
