My 3-year-old loves this game! June 7, 2009 Claire R. Thompson (Iowa) I purchased this game for my 3-year-old, but wasn't sure if she would be able to play it quite yet since the game says it is for ages 5 and up. I was surprised and pleased that she took to it right away. We played it for a few days before I introduced the idea of the ants coming to take a piece away - but she actually loves the idea of an ant coming to take the food and giggles every time she spins the arrow to the ants. Highly recommended game!
Blast from the past! March 19, 2009 Linda G. Peters (San Angelo, TX USA) This is really a fun little game. The pieces are all very brightly colored and fun shaped. It's like a real picnic...ants and all!! The only complaint is with the spinner...it is hard to spin, but overall this is really a neat game.
Fun Game March 1, 2009 Erica Adams (Plainville, Ct. USA) The children enjoyed this game.
Said it was almost like being
on a real picnic.
Fun teaching tool August 9, 2008 frisky2000 (smallville) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My little ones adore this game. It comes with a real red and white checker table cloth, sturdy cardboard pieces and a spinner. The object is to be the first player to assemble a plate, utencils, and one piece of food from each category, namely a drink, one entree, piece of fruit, vegetable and dessert. The spinner contains a spot for each, plus one for "Ants" where landing on it means you have to give a piece back for that round. The game is fast moving and teaches children about taking turns, food groups, and healthy choices. The colorful, realistic pieces are adorable and hold up well to little hands. A must have for the under 6 set. Comes in a convenient and easy to stash small box.

We purchased this for a Christmas gift for a 3-year-old. It was a big hit! We are a big game family and have purchased other games for him (Candyland Castle, Memory, HighHo Cherry-O, Snail's Pace Race), but this is the first game that he has willingly taken turns AND sat through an entire game from beginning to end.
I like that the game shows what a nice, balanced meal should look like (main dish, a veggie, a fruit, a beverage and a dessert). It is also fast paced enough for a preschooler.
Our son likes to practice folding the cloth game board when we are finished.
I recommend this to parents of preschoolers. I have looked at other eeBoo games, but they seem to be very similar to this one, so I'm not sure it would be necessary to buy more than one style.
