3 out of 5 stars Great fun, but poorly manufactured   September 4, 2009
Calico8 (Los Angeles)
After reading the other reviews on Amazon, I fully expected to spend an hour or more putting this truck together. My 3-year old anxiouly assisted me (mostly by screaming "let's put the wheels on now!"), but we had a great time building it. I wouldn't say this was any more difficult than a bookshelf from Ikea.

My gripes would be that some of the holes were drilled a little bit off so all the pieces are a bit askew when assembled. But the bigger problems were that a few of the drill holes were too small (not a big deal), or too big (kinda a bigger deal) and required a little fill to make the screws stay in. Then the dowels for the wheels were bent so that they were hard to fit into the slots and of course made it impossible for the wheels to spin properly after assembly. But wait... maybe the wheels couldn't spin properly because they are all of slightly different sizes!

What a disappointment. My son still loves the truck, and the price is right, but I would've gladly paid a little more for a better manufactured product.

5 out of 5 stars Great toy   September 2, 2009
K. McCart (Huntington Beach, CA)
My 2 year old son has a thing with trash trucks so this was the perfect gift for him! He loves that he can dump the trash can of trash into the truck. It took my husband a bit longer to put together than the instructions make it seem but once together is seems to be pretty durable. Amazing to have a toy in the house that son likes to play with that doesn't make noise!

4 out of 5 stars Garbage Truck for Grandson   August 28, 2009
James H. Nartker (Twinsburg, OH USA)
Bought this for 3-yr old grandson's birthday. He's obsessed with garbage trucks. Assembly was fairly straightforward. Don't tighten screws until each section is fully assembled. Direction photos could be larger. Otherwise, a good build.

5 out of 5 stars Not at all hard to assemble!   February 25, 2009

My special needs three year old son got this for Christmas. He built it with a little help from his dad in about an hour. He enjoyed it so much we're buying the rest of the sets for his birthday!

3 out of 5 stars fun but hard to build   January 26, 2009

We bought this for our son. The truck is very nice and sturdy, but was ridiculously hard to put together. It took us about 2.5 hours to build. The instructions were very unclear, in fact, the pictures lead us to put half of the truck together backwards! The screws were very tiny, and difficult to screw in. Our son has enjoyed playing with it; he especially likes the movable trash dumper in the back. Overall, if you are willing to spend a significant amount of time assembling the truck, you will be pleased with the results.
