I bought this for my 3 year old neice's birthday, but it is equally enjoyed by her sister who is 2 1/2 years older.

My daughter seems to enjoy it but I'm very disappointed by the fumes--which makes me believe that the paint is not eco-friendly and/or has not off-gassed yet. I spent a bit more and bought the PLAN cuttable foods and there is no smell. If this is a concern, I would definitely buy PLAN. Going forward, I will no longer use M & D products--everything smells unless it's used for awhile and has off gassed.

My son received this as a present for his third birthday. He loves it and plays very nicely with his 6 year old sister. They have picinics and I work in the morning with my daughter on fractions as she is a very visual learner. No regrets and have become a HUGE fan of Melissa and Doug. I am tired of paying money for junk that ends in the trash and toys I spend an endless amount on batteries aftewards. My kids prefer these toys and play with them much more. This is my 4th toy from them and no regrets!!

I purchased this toy for my 2 year old niece based on the rave reviews. My sister tells me that her daughter LOVES it so much! She says it is one of her favorite birthday gifts. My sister is planning on giving the same gift to my daughter who will be 2 in a few months.
