Holds two hours of entertainment that's approximately 30 songs or 15 stories. Add an SD memory card to store even more. Headphones are sized just right for little ones and play at a safe volume; breakaway neck strap; six songs and two stories pre-loaded. With the software CD we've included, you can: access the Fisher-Price FP3 Song & Story Online Store; browse hundreds of kid-appropriate songs and stories, all in one place; read expert recommendations to help you choose and purchase online, anytime; copy music from CDs you already own to your player; change and manage your player's songs and stories; player software requirements: Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP; Intel Pentium III 500 MHz or above; 256 MB RAM (512 MB RAM or higher recommended); 150 MB free hard-disc space for full installation; Video Graphics Card with 1024 x 768 resolution or higher; Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 with SP1 or later; Macromedia Flash plug-in; USBport; Optional for Online Store: Internet connection (broadband connection recommended). 5 out of 5 stars Awesome product!!!   September 12, 2009

I had purchased the FP3 player for my 3 yr old son and he LOVES it! It is really easy to use and upload all of his favorite cd's onto it. It has a lot of memory on it, so there is plenty of room for all types of music and stories. one feature that I love is that you can assign icons to every song so it is really easy for my son to find what song he is looking for. It is also very durable. My son is rough on things and we have not had the first problem with it. I would reccommend this player to everyone

3 out of 5 stars Simple review.   July 12, 2009

It IS cute, but not worth the $94 being asked now since it is discontinued. It LOOKS durable and easy to use for the kids. BUT...it is not compatible with Windows Vista out of the box, so we will have to call Fisher Price to get Vista compatible software, which adds more time and drama to the fact that it is very hard to get music on too. For something for a child, I am ambivalant about the fact that it massively harder to manage than my iPod. So, plan ahead to get it set up in advance if you need to have it ready for a birthday or Christmas morning gift. If you have to buy this, because let's face it, there aren't many other options for a really young music lover, then you'll probably be willing to spend the time it will take. If you can at all justify waiting or buying something a little bit older, then do so. It's amazing that I LOVE and HATE Fisher Price for always being the only ones to offer an option for the "big kid" toys for the little guys.

UPDATE: Several weeks later we have contacted Fisher Price, downloaded a software patch for the 32 bit version of Vista (a patch is not available if you have 64 bit.) I still feel that getting the actual music on the device is harder it should be, however, once the music is on the device, managing the library is not hard. It is actually a really cute device, as you can add thumbnail images to each song so your young child can learn to recognize the songs as they scroll through. You can also draw pictures if you cannot find a preloaded image that will match the song. It holds more than I thought too. The biggest positive? My little guy LOVES it! He uses it all the time! The only thing I would change is that I would like to see an icon on the screen telling if the song is playing or paused, because you cannot tell and with the tendency of little fingers to push buttons, we've spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out if it is playing for him or not! All in all though, we really like it!

5 out of 5 stars Great and durable   July 1, 2009

My son has had his for 3 years. I highly recommend this for those who aren't old enough for an ipod. The earphones are great and the sound is fixed so it can't go very loud. He has dropped and thrown this and it keeps on working. My husband does the downloads and was a little frustrated with the method of downloading, but overall that didn't affect the fact that my son carried this with him for years until he finally matured into a real ipod.

1 out of 5 stars Hate It! Hate It! Hate It!   June 26, 2009

I hate this PF3 player more than I hate anything else in my life right now! I have spent upward of 100 hours trying to load songs from CDs onto it. First of all because it is a PF3 player not an MP3 player it does not automatically title the songs so you have to go in and rename every song you put on it!!!! If Fisher Price had only paid for the MP3 files it would be a great product. But as is it is the most frustrating thing I have ever worked with!!

I bought 2 of them and the kids love them in the car for travel. Really makes the trip nice and quiet when they have them.
