Dissappointed November 15, 2009 Happy Mom (Honolulu, HI) What has happened to Melissa and Doug? We bought one of these chunky puzzles for our other son 3 years ago and it has lasted so well because it is painted. I just got this one last night for his little brother and it's not painted at all. Everything just has a sticker on the front that immediately will start peeling away if you wipe the thing down. It's definitely going back! Very disappointing.
A Fine Puzzle! November 12, 2009 ACE-W (Missouri) I bought this for my grandson and he will love it. Looks sturdy and easy to use for his age group. The cost was good and I love the looks of the puzzle.
Adorable puzzle! September 13, 2009 annie Our daughter loves this puzzle! She's had it since she was one and still plays with it at 2 years old. The pieces are big and colorful and engage her.
The only negative would be that the pieces are easily chewed up by our dogs. Other than that, they are very sturdy!
We LOVE Melissa and Doug products :O)
My 1-year old daughter loves it! July 23, 2009 Aphina (CT, USA) I bought this puzzle for my daughter when she was 11 mos old. I thought it was too early for her to enjoy it. I also was concerned about the lack of knobs. However, i liked the animal figurines and decided to give it a try. My daughter fell in love with it immediately! It's been over a month and she plays with it constantly with or without our help. She studies them, chews on them, bangs them together, puts them in and out various containers. She still cannot put the shapes into the cutouts, but she is trying.
I have to say, that she is an observer, so this toy suits her perfectly!
And the quality of the toy is excellent!
New design, very disappointing July 1, 2009 T. Walker 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
When I ordered this puzzle the product description said "wood" and "hand painted", the customer reviews also raved about these features. When I got the puzzle I was very disappointed to find that the puzzle pieces are MDF board, not wood or even plywood, and the puzzle board was MDF and plywood. Additionally they were not painted at all but had paper stickers that immediately started tearing off.
