"Stop and go," that's what riding the school bus is all about. That and enjoying the bumpy, "wiggly-wobbly" ride, of course! This cute bus will appeal to every toddler and preschooler who has gazed longingly out the window as the big kids board the big yellow bus, off to exotic destinations unknown. Measuring 12 inches long and half again as wide, the durable plastic bus rolls through town, jostling the passengers with the aforementioned "wiggly-wobbly" action. Push down on driver Carlos and see flashing lights, plus hear the "Stop and Go" song, beeping horns, giggling children, and commentary from the driver ("Everyone sit down…let's go to school!" etc.). The bus includes driver, two passengers, a wheelchair for one of the riders, a swiveling stop sign, a door that opens, and easy access through the roof for children to play with the figures. According to the packaging, this toy is for 1- to 4-year-olds (which means the Amazon's "choking hazard" warning may have been a generic one placed on every toy page). In addition to the school bus itself, you get Carlos the driver, Maggie, Michael, and a small "wheelchair." One interesting thing with all these Little People toys is you always get a mix of races in the characters, probably a way to instill political correctness in young children early on.
Pressing down on Carlos (or whoever is in that hot seat) allows the toy to make some simple sounds. I think there's little variety here, just 3 or 4 different phrases. The wiggly-wobbly action is so basic that it bored my kids after about 3 seconds, so they chose to ignore that part from the beginning. But otherwise both have fun with the toy, with the older one making up stories about the characters, which is exactly why I bought this in the first place.
I am a little concerned about the build quality of this made-in-China toy, though. Both the side door and the back door can open up, but the hinges are flimsy so I think the doors are going to break any time now. Also, as with other Little People vehicle toys, the characters don't sit in the slots well, so they tend to fall out even when the bus is rolling on a flat surface.

Love this bus, Plus it sings and has flashing lights even working doors and it comes with some Little Peeps. Very durable, I have two for my twins and it has survived second story drops and a few dips in the pool. After drying it out, got the sound back and all! Amazing. The energizer bunny should take a ride with my kids and this bus, see how tough he is!
