Despicable! October 26, 2009 Kent Ward 1 out of 13 found this review helpful
This machine doesn't have nearly the amount of functions I was expecting! How can I calculate vectors when there aren't even trig functions!
This is the reason American children can't compete on a global marketplace. This "tool" of education is more of a tool for procrastination for the American public. L'Hopital would turn in his grave! Newton would have an aneurysm!
Such simplistic mathematics is best left to those whom the toy's description excludes - three year olds and below.
For just a slight amount more, you could get an old yet durable graphing utility which would increase the amount you could teach your child by a factor of 10!
In conclusion, there isn't enough here to warrant a buy. If I can't calculate a vector with it, it's rubbish.
Poor quality August 12, 2009 S. Klein 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this toy to help my daughter learn the multiplication tables. It is very easy to use- when it works. After only a couple of days, it wouldn't even turn on. Weeks later, it mysteriously began to work again. Now it has returned to its previous malfunctioning state. I am very disappointed because my father purchased it for me in the States and brought it to Israel, where I live. I cannot easily obtain such toys.
Tutor's pride June 30, 2009 G. Heinton (Cambridge, Ohio) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased a Math Whiz over 5 years ago to help 3rd graders with their multiplication tables. It was so successful, I looked for more and was not able to locate any. The stores and Kmart (where I purchased it for $8.00) did not carry or were not going to order any more after the Christmas Holiday. My old and relible Math Whiz is still working perfectly after many, many fingers pushed at the buttons. I am so glad I found it once again on line so I could get a couple as a donation to our local school. The students love it.
Quit working June 17, 2009 Belle (Toney, AL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
...after about 5 months. After reading all the one and two star reviews, it would appear the Math Whiz product has quality issues.

My 9 y/o daughter thinks it is a fun and educational toy.
She recommends this to anyone who loves math or needs to work on math.
She loves math and it has lots of fun problem solving challenges.
