My wife is a doll collector and when we brought our newborn home she outfitted the crib with an Ugly Doll Classic Icebat. It can be viewed as a doll and serves well as a small pillow. Well, I tend to hate those little cutsie-poo stuffed animals, but this thing has a certain humor to it. People look into the crib and laugh at the sight of this creature next to the cute baby. In any case, he is now a year old and it's still with his crib. It's well made out of nice materials. Plus, it's u g l y !

Ice Bat Conquers Kids and the Washing Machine! July 21, 2009

This has to be one of my brother's favorite presents! He first saw the Ugly Doll Ice Bat on the movie "Zathura" and I found the Ugly Doll website and was even more thrilled to find it on Amazon.
This Ugly Doll may not be the prettiest of toys, but it definitely is the most lasting. It's not a phase or a trend toy like Transformers, Power Rangers, or anything along those lines. It's very well designed so it can withstand several boys of all ages tugging on it and wrestling with it, not to mention sleeping with it!
With three boys fighting over it between the ages of 3 and 8, I found the biggest challenge to whether this Ugly Doll was going to last or get any friends was if it lasted through a wash cycle. After all, boys aren't known for their cleanliness. The Ugly Doll Ice Bat made it through a wash and dry cycle and came out perfect!
The Ice Bat was such a hit that he not only has a friend, but my other brother ended up with one and my niece just got one for her birthday! These Ugly Dolls do not only last with kids, but are durable and good for both genders!
I would definitely recommend Ugly Dolls to anyone who has kids. They're fantastic!

Ugly dolls have been a wonderful pass time for our boys. As they have grown older it became "uncool" to play with stuffed animals. However, these little ugly dolls are the exception to the rule. They can be enjoyed without appearing "babyish." They are made of great quality and of course, have a corresponding website to enjoy and collect them all.

I love these dolls. I like the way they look and feel. They are cute (yes, cute, not ugly!) and cuddly and they seem well made. I got the huge Ice Bat at FAO Schwartz. My issue is the made in China thing, but more than that, it's the name. Why are we teaching our children the word ugly? I understand that it is the whole gimmick, and that's how they make money off us, but I wish they were called something else. I think the ugly thing is in poor taste and it just goes to show how sad we are as a society that we love things that are mean in nature. Some young kids don't understand when it is appropriate to use the word ugly, and when it is not (it should never really be appropriate) so this may confuse them. Kids with autism or learning disabilities may not understand that this is just a joke and may be upset by it, or they might think it's OK to throw around the word ugly. Created by bullies!

Uglydolls (especially Ice-Bat) are cute, snuggly, and feel like pillows!!!
I have a HUGE collection and have realized that I've spent almost all the money I have from allowance and other stuff in Uglydolls... but they are worth every, single penny!!!
I have 24, and this was my 4th- given to me by my best friend for my birthday! Ice-Bat is my favorite one and I call him Icey!! He is even sitting on my lap right now and looking at his tag they always use the word "ugly".
In my world, Ugly is the new Pretty. UGLYDOLLS RULE!!! (especially Icey)
