Great for a solar system/space loving child August 31, 2009 Coffee Queen (South Florida) I bought this for my 4 1/2 year old son who absolutely loves the planets. He is able to put it together himself and it is challenging enough to keep him busy for a while. I liked it so much that we bought another one as a gift for the 5 year old next door who is now beginning to take an interest in the planets. The pieces are thicker than a regular puzzle so it is a bit more durable than a regular puzzle. I would definitely buy more Melissa & Doug floor puzzles.
love it. July 22, 2009 Sami Jadran (Germantown, Maryland United States) this is my sons favorite jigsaw floor puzzle. It is really big and he loves doing it with his papa. He learned all the planet names and now my son (age four) wants to learn more about planets and space.
Durable, educational and fun April 29, 2009 Marsha M (Chardon OH USA) Melissa & Doug Solar System 48pc Floor
First I bought this product for my nephew who is 9 and has an interest in space. He loved it and kept taking it apart and putting it back together,
now he is going to glue and hang it on his bedroom wall. So I ordered two more for my grandson who is five and my sister's grandson who is 4.
They both love them. The four year old had a great rainy day putting it together and since he's wild about the planets lately he was really pleased. His parents recognized the Melissa and Doug product name and knew the quality of their puzzles. I wish they would come out with one that is large with the stars and the constellations, all three are beginning to have an interest in the night sky. Great durable pieces. Grandma M
Very satisfied April 7, 2009 Dearington (Maryland) This is the fourth M&D jigsaw puzzle we have purchased for my son (he just turned 3). They are a challenge, but a managable one. He gets a great sense of accomplishment when he finishes, and we get to identify the objects in the picture-another learning opportunity. The pieces are big enough for him to handle easily and they typically divide in such a way that it isn't too hard for him to find a match. Great opportunity for semi-guided learning through play. Very satisfied with the construction and quality of the puzzles as well.
educational January 5, 2009 Tiffany (Park Ridge, IL United States) My girls were so excited to open this at Christmas time. They were excited to recognize earth. As they put the puzzle together they were kneeling on the pieces trying to get the pieces where they need to go. The puzzle seems to be very strong where kneeling on them won't hurt them. The colors on the puzzle are sharp. I was very impressed. I think this puzzle is a good way to get your kids to know what planets there are and what they look like.
