Big hit in preschool class March 16, 2009 Rebecca J. OHagan (Washington) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our preschool class of 3 - 5 year olds were learning about space and astronauts. I purchased the Space Station, in addition to numerous other space related toys/puzzles/books, etc. This was by far the favorite item in the class. As a matter of fact, I decided to buy two of these because it was so popular. We didn't have any problems with durability and we have 16 children playing with this in our class. The Space Station is well worth the money if you would like to begin to teach your child, grandchild, or students about space exploration at a young age.
Space Station January 19, 2009 Christina Miller (Woodburn, IN) The space station is very cute, but I thought it would be a LOT bigger for the price. It is for my daughter with Down syndrome and she loves outer space thanks to Curious George!
Awesome Toy, Still Going After 12 Years November 13, 2008 Kay (Norton, MA. USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was so excited to see that they still make and sell this toy. I bought this toy for my son when he was 3. That was back in 1996 and now 12 years later, our 3rd & 4th child are still playing with the same toy. It has never been packed up, it has always been a favorite toy, and we have even been able to find accessory kits for it which have just added to the fun. Nieces and Nephews have also enjoyed playing with it while visiting. It has survived 12 years of just about every kind of play imaginable, it has been dropped down the stairs, brought outside, tossed in the toy box, etc. We have not had any real problems with the toy. One of the doors on the land rover popped off once, but it popped right back on and hasn't come off again. Also the red door that folds down on the side of the building popped off once, but that too, popped back on and has stayed in place. We have had years of enjoyment with this toy.
Inexpensive, but lots of fun September 27, 2008 J. Jones (Blue Point, NY) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was hesitant to purchase this item because of the comments regarding how well it was made. No, it's not super high quality, but for the inexpensive price I paid, I think it was well worth it. I bought this for my son for his 3rd birthday and he absolutely loves it!! We also bought a Galactic Heroes X-Wing Star Fighter for him and so far, he prefers the less expensive Space Sation! Incidentally, the Galactic Heroes figures are the perfect size to fit with the Space Station, so he has been playing with both toys together.
Great for imagination but not well made April 22, 2008 Connor Holmes Our two and four year old boys are enjoying this a great deal - the space theme has obvious appeal, and there are a lot of components allowing for new play options. Importantly, there are two space ships, so if you have two kids it reduces the potential for arguments. However, the quality is not great: 1. Thin plastic - our kids immediately wanted to stand on the roof (as they do with their Little People sets), only to have crackling sounds as the plastic splits. 2. The fit between pieces is not fantastic, eg. astronauts fall inside vehicles, requiring Big Fingered People to extract them. It seems safe, but I won't be surprised if there are pinching incidents from poor-fitting seams (nothing so far tho'). A little pricey for the quality but the kids are happy, so 4 stars!
