Tools and tool belt September 14, 2009 Sandra Harston (Hertfordshire, England) My little boy of nearly three adores Bob the Builder and I thought this would be a good toy for him. Very good value and he enjoys playing with all the tools. The only downsides are the drill bits come off very easily from the drill and the tool belt is quite hard to secure around a tiny waist ...
Wonderful Toolset January 7, 2009 JMomma (Louisville) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm so glad we purchased this tool set for my son (28 months old). He really enjoys it, and the tools do look real, though they are made of plastic. The piece of 'wood' it comes with allows you to screw, hammer and even drill holes. Very entertaining, and excellent for coordination, cause/effect, etc. It's most helpful to have an adult when doing more of the tedious parts of the set, but definitely worth growing in to!
We love this set December 20, 2008 K. Killingbeck (San DIego, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is acutally the 2nd set of these I have purchased. A friend who has played with ours mentioned her daughter would love to have one for her birthday, so we were happy to help. She loves it just as much as my son loves his.
We got this set as a birthday present for my three year old. We specifically asked for this set because it came with a case, didn't have too many small parts, and was very realistic. We were not disappointed.
My only complaint in the entire set, is the tool belt. It is too big for him and does not stay up well. But other than that, he loves playing with it. My favorite part is the case, makes it easy to clean up and store. My son loves every tool in there. But his favorite has to be the tape measure. He uses it all the time. The other day, Daddy metioned we needed to fix the chair. My son went and got his tool case and started to "drill" the chair!
The tools are all sturdy. The "board" with the nails, screws and saw marks is really neat too. There are some small parts to be careful of. I would definetly recomend this set over anything else I have seen out there.
Fun While it Lasted November 16, 2008 Michigan Mom 36 This tool set was purchased for twin 3-and-a-half year old girls in July 2007. I read many reviews before purchasing this, and was pleased with the realistic appearance of the tools and the sturdy carrying box they came in. They played with it quite often, but after about 6 months, the drill no longer worked; something broke inside the handle, making the trigger stick. The tape measure's stopper at the end broke off, so the tape goes completely inside the case and gets stuck. The pliers come apart constantly when any grip force is used and if you lose the tiny piece that connects the two handles, you are out of luck. The rest of the pieces still work and are still played with, but with only a few remaining, how fun is that? It is also hard to get the tools into the tool belt in the correct places so they fit. Disappointing...I will most likely replace this toy at Christmas with some other brand of tool set.
Little Disappointed September 4, 2008 J. Freriks The tools are not the best quality. The pliers broke the first time our son played with them, the drill bit does not stay in the drill and the tool belt is too big for our 3 year old to wear. However, the pretend wood piece is pretty neat. It actually looks like you are cutting wood or drilling a hole. The caring case is convenient.
