I bought this for our 2-year old, which I think was a little young. He liked playing with each piece, but didn't quite get that they should stay in the belt etc. My 5-year old daughter LOVED it.

This gift was received by my son yesterday for his 2nd birthday. He wore the apron with tools during his party and went straight to it this morning. My mother also rediscovered a set of tools from my brother's childhood toolbench. The bonus is that my son tells me "I have 2 hammers. Red one. Blue one." He 'fixes' his train and trucks. He carried the tools around everywhere today. Now he can help daddy and I don't have to worry about him scratching up the paint.
Safety: The tools appear good. The toy is rated for ages 2+, but the apron strings are long. Be aware of the strangulation hazards.
Parent annoyance: The beeper is loud. Maybe hide it or take the batteries out if you are sensitive to annoying noises.

My little builder loves his toolbelt!! My grandson is almost three years old and has become an avid fan of Manny and all his adorable tools on the TV program. He totally enjoys wearing his tool belt while watching Manny! Also, when his Dad is working in the garage, he puts on his tool belt and "helps". This toy actually teaches children the proper use of tools that they will be using most of their lives. Great "pretend play" option.

These tools were a big hit with the 2 year old birthday boy. The belt is convenient but hardly used. However, the tools are light, fairly harmless and easy to handle. He plays with them a lot and mimics his Dad, who uses tools to fix his big boy toys.

I gave this tool belt w/tools along with a workbench (with more tools) to my nephew for his 2nd birthday. They immediately became his favorite toys and each morning, the first thing he does is bring the tool belt to his mom to tie it on for him. Love it!
