Teacher Review For many toddlers and preschool-age children a highlight of the week can be watching the garbage truck stop in front of the house and lift the bins high into the air in all their noisy power and glory. This big, bright green-and-yellow garbage truck from Bruder Toys will provide hours of creative and imaginative play. The six-wheeled plastic truck measures approximately 2 feet long, 6 inches wide, and 10 inches tall. The truck comes with two small, realistic bins in yellow and blue. The two bins hook on to the tailgate, which lifts with a lever. Other turning knobs dump the trash and compact it. This toy could be used as a recycling truck given the recycling symbol on the side, which makes it a great educational toy to introduce environmental consciousness. Extra bins and a larger Dumpster may be purchased separately. --Lair Showalter, mother and elementary school teacher
Product Description This fully functional garbage truck features a trash compactor and a back end that tilts up to dump the truck contents. Each truck features tread tires and two small trash bins. Dim: 24.4"L x7.3"W x 10.4"H

Nicole August 5, 2009 Nicole (MN) My boys (ages 3 and 5) were so excited for this garbage truck but now it just makes them cry. When they lift the back to dump the garbage it always gets stuck up and I have to come and struggle with it to put it back down. Very dissapointed. I would definately not recommend this toy.
Well worth the price. November 19, 2008 Carol (Ormond Beach, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like many little boys, my grandson (4) is fascinated when the garbage truck comes by. He got this garbage truck for Christmas last year and it was well worth the price. He and his brother (7) have given this truck a lot of use and it has held up to all their play. And they love it. It looks like the real thing and has lots of working parts. They especially love putting small toys in the bin and dumping them into the truck. A great toy for boys and one that will last.
Great toy truck! September 18, 2008 J's Mommy (Albuquerque, NM, USA) My son just received this garbage truck from his Grandpa today. I agree with some of the other reviews in that this truck may not hold up to rough play, but so far, so good! My 2 1/2 year old son played with it for 2 solid hours and would've played longer had it not been dinner time! My son had no problem figuring out how to attach the garbage cans to the back, and how to operate the various parts. The price is exorbitant, but it's a gift from Grandpa. Thanks to the other reviews, I know to supervise my son while he plays with this truck, and remind him that there are fragile parts, and that he needs to play gently with it. He's pretty good about things like that, so I anticipate this being a fun toy for a long time!
perfect toy August 17, 2008 Claudio Velasquez (new york) my two year old love this toy.
there is not a single day that he do not play with it
maybe sound would make it a perfect toy
Don't buy it February 14, 2007 Ekin (Miami, FL) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this garbage truck for my 3 year old son. He was thrilled when he saw it and for the first time he played with a toy by himself for more than an hour! HOWEVER after an hour the back end was broken as well as the mirrors and he got very upset. This truck looks great, but it is not durable. If it was $10 that wouldn't be a problem but for $60 it should have lasted for more than an hour!
