Product Description It's the ultimate brainteaser game. Experience the best-selling puzzle game ever with a classic Rubik's Cube. Twist and turn this crazy puzzle, mixing up all the different colored sides, then amaze everyone by solving one of the 43 quintillion combinations. Can you solve the puzzle' Includes a solution hints booklet.
Editorial Review Even if you've been living on Mars since the 1970s, you've probably heard of Rubik's Cube, the bestselling puzzle in history. Just in case, though, here's a recap: it's a 3-by-3-by-3-inch cube with rotating faces made up of nine squares that can be scrambled into (so it's said) 43 quintillion combinations. Getting the cube back to its original position (so that all nine squares of the same color make up each face) is incredibly challenging for most, though it can be mastered and solved. For those not gifted with superhuman spatial intuition, this mindbender comes with a solution hints booklet, which examines the cube's properties and offers clues for solving the puzzle. Whether it's a difficult toy or retro '80s kitsch you're seeking, Rubik's Cube is for you. --Rob Lightner

Shoddy Construction October 25, 2009 Mordicus (Long Island, NY) The first one I received fell into pieces as I took it out of the clam shell package for the first time. One of the center cubes broke off of the inner support just by opening it from the package. It appears to have been a manufacturing defect. I received a replacement.
The 2nd cube's stickers started to peel off after a few hours of use. Very annoying.
The center white cube has a RUBIK's Cube logo which is a complete eye sore. Everyone knows it's a Rubik's cube, why do I need an advertisement on the cube??? It really takes away from the aesthetics of the cube. It makes me want to buy an off brand just to not have the ad there.
Other than that, it is what it is. It's not educational. The overwhelming vast majority of us can only "learn" how to solve it by having the solution and practicing it. Anyone who claims to figure it out by themselves is full of it. I do not recommend this for children - buy them a hand held video game which will provide greater mental exercise.
Put petroleum Jelly to lube the insides to make it move faster. Directions on you tube.
just perfect! October 20, 2009 Bhavik Patel This product was what I expected it would be. Pretty good built quality and just works.
Bad bad quality October 16, 2009 bobo (Pittsburgh, PA USA) I own several rubiks cube and since my old ones are wearing out I thought I should get a new one. To my disappoint, this one which I order was really really horrible. It was so light weight it felt so cheap. And the edges are so rough it's so difficult to turn it. I wished that I had heeded other comments first before buying this because now I regret it. ): It is really really hard to turn and the quality just sucks.
The basic puzzle that STILL stumps me! October 14, 2009 J. Barton (Ok, USA) I remember playing with the rubiks cube when I was a kid, so for Christmas I decided to get my daughter one. She was not all that impressed with it but I was still inthrawled on figuring this out. I even stooped to the level of youtubing "the answer" which didnt help me one bit! Overall its a great little toy/puzzle to keep the mind churning.
Good Experience September 30, 2009 Benson M. Solomon I had a very good buying experience and I would be happy to do it again. Darn these things are hard!
