Thanks to the miracle of tough foam rubber, these big blocks are perfect for little kids. Durable and just big enough to be handled easily by small hands, the pieces range from 4 inches to a foot wide (all the blocks are just over 4 inches thick). The colorful, geometric blocks also prove light enough that no one will get hurt when a top-heavy creation starts to tumble, or--heaven forbid--someone (accidentally) gets bonked on the head by a big blue triangle or a red brick. A neat extra: these blocks even float in water, making them perfect for pool play. --Paul Hughes

5 out of 5 stars BUY IT, IT IS WORTH IT   March 6, 2002

These blocks are COOL!!! My boys love them, they are safe and so much fun. At first I hesitated to buy these blocks because I thought the price was ridiculous so I split the cost with my sister and my mom, and if I had to do it again I would pay for them on my own. I haven't been able to find anything else like this. So like I said buy them they are worth it!!!

2 out of 5 stars Don't be taken advantage of!   November 12, 2001

A foam block is just a foam block, no matter how it is marketed. With my first child, I have purchased similar blocks for my son for substantially lower prices. Because I am familiar with this kind of toy and its real value, I would never pay over a dollar a piece for a block of this type. And this product offer is asking you to pay over three dollars for each of these small blocks!

Foam blocks are easy to find at most toy stores and even from other online vendors. I like foam blocks, I gave them to my son when he was a baby and I plan to buy some new ones for my second son due soon. I don't dispute the value of foam blocks for a child's playtime, I dispute the ridiculous price asked for this toy (and other toys I have seen offered here as well).

While the convenience of online shopping is a great boon to busy parents, this simply crosses the line into the arena of taking advantage of parents' desires to do what is best for their kids. Spending (this much) for cheap blocks of the type that you can get for less elsewhere is not smart and does not do anything for your child that you are probably are already doing. Sure, your baby will like these blocks, but your baby will be just as pleased with blocks that are fairly priced. The money you save can be spent on other things your family needs. I advise all parents to pass this one by and caution them to be sure to look at all the products and prices offered here more closely.

4 out of 5 stars Fun, but $104.00?!?!?!   August 14, 2001

My one-year-old son had a great time playing with these blocks ... He loved the colors and shapes. He really enjoyed knocking down my block creations. We had such a good time playing with the blocks that I decided to go on-line to buy him some. I was shocked at the price. I cannot believe [what] these blocks cost ... For thirty-two foam blocks?!?!?!?! Forget it. It's too bad that these blocks are cost restrictive; they're great fun, but not worth the price.

4 out of 5 stars Even clean up can be fun   August 8, 2000

For a 2 & 3 year old, even picking up these blocks and putting them back on the shelves is a fun game, with the varied styles and sizes, the blocks fly back and forth as they pick their favorite shapes and colors. Building is even more fun, although it does not get the laughs and giggles that knocking down the latest creation gets. For a rainy day, indoor toy, this one can't be beat. Unlike other sets of blocks we have purchased, no one can get hurt with these foam shapes, and the unusual shapes and bright colors really brings out the imagination of my budding builders (or wrecking crew). The extra large size of the blocks allows for buildings tall enough that Mom has been called to layer on the last few blocks, but insures that new inventions are always possible.
