I had no idea how to play mah jong. I had signed up for an adult education class and the day before it started I received a call that the class was cancelled. I was determined to learn mah jong. I bought this book and it gave me the help that I needed. My local library held mah jong games on Thursday and I thought I would give it a try. I couldn't believe that on my first day I was actually able to play and I did win one game. I was so excited. This is a great book. I recommend it to everyone.

This book is well written and easy to understand for a beginner who is overwhelmed with trying to remember so much information. I bring it with me when I'm playing Mah Jongg and can find answers easily to all our questions. I would recommend it highly.

Having learned mah jongg from a friend and having played for about a year I was interested in brushing up on any rules I may have missed, etc. and learning a little more about strategy. I also have a friend who is just starting to play and wanted to see if this book could help.
It is an outstanding resource for both the new mah jongg player and the experienced. I and my mentor learned several new items and approaches and the new player has found it excellent.
It's very well written and very clear in the way it lays things out. I definitely recommend it for anyone interested in playing American Mah Jongg.
