NBA Today
NBA 2K10 is committed to providing a realistic NBA experience. Just one aspect of this is NBA Today, in which all the real world matchups, news and stats are automatically streamed right into your game providing dynamic commentary and presentation elements based upon what is happening in the real NBA.

My Player Mode
My Player Mode is perhaps the most exciting new feature built into NBA 2K10. Instead of focusing on over all team status, My Player Mode is a career mode, allowing players at home create the ultimate NBA player from the ground, up and guide his every career move. Start as an undrafted rookie in the Summer Leagues, where you specify every aspect of your character's game and physical makeup. Work hard enough throughout the series of games played here, gathering enough experience points along the way to build the skills your player needs at his position and you may get an invite to participate in an NBA team’s training camp. And if you don't make the cut, not to worry there is always the D-League, where you can work more on your game until you get your next shot. Either way, the road to being an NBA star is a long and hard battle full of challenges.

Crews
Basketball is a team sport, and NBA 2K10 acknowledges this with its Crew functionality. Round up your friends and build the ultimate squad, using either your created players from My Player mode or an actual NBA team, then go online and battle other Crews for bragging rights and progression points as you try to climb your way to the top of the Crew leaderboard rankings.

Living Rosters
The 2K Insider and his team of NBA analysts continue to keep NBA 2K10 fresh with up-to-date team and player information, including roster and lineup moves, trades, injuries and player ratings. Now track all of the changes through the season with interactive menus and analysis.

Seamless Online Experience
Forget the past, with NBA 2K10 online play is fully incorporated into every mode of the game. Now you can play the AI, challenge the friend sitting next to you or play your buddy across town anytime, from anywhere in the game. The game features 1-4 player support in versus and coop play locally and 2-10 player support in versus and coop play online with up to a full five man roster on each side.

Signature Play
Signature Play pulls together all of NBA 2K’s player Signature Styles and adds in all-new Signature Tendencies and facial expressions, creating NBA 2K10 teams that play and react like their real life counterparts for an unbelievably realistic NBA experience.

New Intuitive Offensive Controls
All-new easy-to-use dribbling and post game controls allow you to pull off ankle breaking ISO-Motion moves and dominate like Kobe from the perimeter to the paint.

Shut Down D
Every NBA star knows that offense is flashy, but defense wins championships. With this in mind NBA 2K10 gives you the opportunity to show your stuff at both ends of the court. Shut down teams like never before with innovative defensive controls that allow you to shadow your opponent’s every move, deny position off-ball, and even select how you want to contest shots.

4 out of 5 stars Still Needs a Patch!!   November 15, 2009
C. Harrison (Virginia Beach, VA)
While gameplay is decent overall, still needs to be improved with a patch. The graphics are very good and presentation is good as well. Hopefully, As I write this the pending PC patch will improve on alot of this games flaws! Even with that being said, the game is worth a look as it is!

5 out of 5 stars Straight Forward advice about this game   October 29, 2009

I have read many reviews about NBA 2K9 and NBA 2k10 and it ceases to amaze me what people complain about! Let me start this review by clearing up a couple of things:

1. DO NOT USE INTEGRATED GRAPHICS ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD!! Buying a video card is a must! I run NBA 2K10 with a Pentium 4! Yes, you read right, I have a pentium 4 2.8 ghz, 4 GB of ram, and a GeForce 9800 512 MB video Card and this game runs flawless. It makes me laugh every time I read a review that says something like "I bought a quad-core computer with 8GB of ram and I am using the integrated graphics on my motherboard and I cant understand why this game runs very slow and then crashes." My personal opinion is that RAM and VIDEO CARD are everything when it comes to gaming. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS GAME A POOR RATING DUE TO YOUR CRAPPY COMPUTER OR LACK OF COMPUTER SKILLS!!

2. BUY THE XBOX 360 CONTROLLER!!! This game is a mod of the xbox 360 version so it only makes sense to use the same controller. With NBA 2k9, I used a Logitech Rumblepad 2 controller and the buttons would never match up to what the game said. I learned my lesson and bought a Xbox controller with nba 2k10 and it makes the game 10 times better! HELPFUL HINT: You can buy a regular xbox 360 controller and download the drivers for it at microsoft's website. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY THE PC VERSION Controller. The only difference between the PC version is that it comes with the drivers on a disk in cheaper packaging. It is pretty easy to find a cheap used controller locally at a used video game store.

3. NBA 2K10 HAS FIXED MOST PROBLEMS THAT STEMMED FROM NBA 2k9! There finally is Online game play even though its limited, no more long updates before playing game, and, wow, there is a key code that came with this game!

PHEW!! I feel better getting that off my chest. All I can say is you have to buy this game! It sets a new precedence for sport games and EA sports needs to take notes. The graphics are unbelievable! The flow of the game is the most realistic you will find. I will not bore you with all the cool features I love and hate because it is all personal preference. Are you still reading this review? STOP AND BUY THE GAME ALREADY!! ITS UNDER $20!

5 out of 5 stars The best bball game I've owned   October 24, 2009

I loved the first NBA JAM when you could play D, NBA LIVE for PC 05-06, and 2K9 was very good, but this is the best bball game I've played. I've always frowned on 2K cuz I was a NBA LIVE guy and for those couple of years LIVE PC 05-06 was better IMO. Last year I finally crossed over to 2K with 2K9 I thought the game was very good, but I hated the music, the ugly menus, the player close ups looked like aliens, then you go online and it's a bunch of wanna be fake tough lil wayne gangsters that think forcing the ball every possesion with kobe or lebron makes them better than you. As well 2K9 just didn't have the bells and whistles I was used to with NBA LIVE.

So this year I bought NBA LIVE 10 for 49.99 and NBA 2K10 PC for 7.99 after rebate, Live was average, people are getting way to geeked for LIVE (the thing that LIVE did was threw in a bunch of player animations so they move properly now, no longer like robots, that's why people are jumping ship, they are shocked cuz it looks like real player movement and they assume that's why it's good without knowing what it is that is so much better, that's it, but they assume it's everything , when it isn't. The game is flawed it's easy to hit jumpers for 3 quarters until all the sudden the same jumpers stop going in in the 4th so you gotta drive. People are complaining about LIVE cuz you can abuse with a glitch step back 3 and they took out online clubs I have no idea what those are, but the bells and whistles are with 2K10 alone this year. Dynamic season looks like a great addition, but addidas live run is below average those are there two new features to the game.

Finally, 2K10 PC is fantastic. I don't know about the PS3 version, but the demo was horrid I can understand why people say nba 2k9.5 cuz that's what that demo felt like). I really would rather have the PS3 version (because I have bluetooth and my hdtv), but I have a feeling this PC version is better, not playing the PS3 version other than the demo. Again the PC version plays much smoother than the PS3 version. That likely has something to do with it coming from a 360 build and not a ps3 build.

The presentation is fantastic you open with a far shot of the court with the opening ceremonies of the host team then a close up of the superstar going thru his pre game routine, then to the starting lineups and the tip off. Shooting doesn't seem as difficult as it was last year as long as you are taking a smart shot, it's easier to drive and feed down low as well, the game has a nicer flow to it in my opinion. Defense is much improved no more lockdown control, but now you have perimeter control, you can smother guys which reminds me of old 05-06 PC NBA LIVE when LIVE was great. You have My player which is like another game in itself where you can start as a scrub in the pro summer leagues with your edited player and go to the d league or if you are good enough be drafted on an NBA team. The sound is a 10/10, the announcers are a 10/10, the NBA Today is brand new it's the real NBA season info up and coming games, slick looking graphics, slick menu graphics, full of features. It's a 10/10 game. I gave it a 4/5 on fun cuz I'd rather play it on the PS3 if I knew it was this good, lol. A 10/10 game. It just looks fantastic the whole package is slick.

Oh the servers they stink once again, and the framerate at times online or off is a little jacked up, but the game is so good offline, and they are working on it, I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt it gets fixed, especially online play.
