Okay for Occasional Use November 22, 2009

This is an okay product if you want to make occasional fliers, cards, etc. And you want to be suicidal.

I use it almost everyday at work. And that makes me hate it. First, Printshop has changed almost nothing from version 15 (which I used to use) to 23. Second, no matter what computer or printer I use (I've used it on at least 5 different computers and 3 different printers) if I tell it to print more than one copy, it will print until it's out of paper (unless it's a very small number, like 3, then it prints 3 to 4 times the number of copies I told it to. Tell it 3, you get 12). This is very irritating as I have to print out a exact number of postcards everyday and that means I have to count out the postcards, put them in the printer, tell it to print, and wait until the paper runs out. A waste of my time.

Also, Printshop has directly messed up the registry entries for the disc drive on no fewer than 3 computer to my knowledge. All of these computers were used by different people, all of them I've had to fix several times. It just kepts messing up the registry entries for no apparent reason. After MULTIPLE e-mails and calls to the maker of Printshop (we know it was Printshop because we installed it and then the CD drive didn't appear in My Computer anymore on all the machines) we still haven't resolved the issue. All of these computers ceased to have any issues after I uninstalled Printshop. The company knows about this issue, people talk about it on forums, yet they've never fixed it and the information they sent me on how to fix it isn't a permanent fix. It's only temporary. Annoying.

Overall, Printshop is more trouble than it's worth. The features of it and the retarded way in which it is set up is just useless. I'd suggest finding a different program to use, unless you're super computer savvy and know what you're doing. Because you're going to have registry problems and you won't be able to use your CD/DVD drive. Also, Printshop is an AWFUL resource hog and slowed down every computer it runs on.

My suggestion: buy a different program.

NOT GOOD FOR WINDOWS VISTA November 20, 2009

I used an eariler version and liked it, but this program requires Microsoft.net Framework 1.1, but Vista has a different framework version installed and even if you download the framework form Microsoft, the Print Shop program still doesn't work properly. Broderbund's response is that it is Microsoft's problem, and they responded to my emails about specific problems with a repeated form letter email that was a step by step procedure on how to install (How to install for Idiots). I told them it was installed but not working properly and they sent the same form letter. If you check the framework download on the MS website, you'll see a lot of letters about this problem. Find a better program and a better company.

I have used Print Shop since it came out and each version surpasses the old one, giving meThe Print Shop 23 Deluxe new resourses to choose from. For me, being able to customise how I want a greating card or make a flyer for my artwork, is as good as it gets. Being able to use my own photographs and such from my hardrive is a plus. I have tried another program but came back to the one I liked best....Print Shop.

I've used Print Shop ever since it first came out. I also purchased, in those early days, Print Master. However, it was Print Shop that kept me coming back for the next version. It is intuitive and easy for a first-timer but has advanced aspects to satisfy the intermediate user. I recommend it for all the projects it lists in its advertising.
