Works for me September 21, 2009 Linda (San Jose, CA United States) I looked at a lot of different typing software before deciding on this one. The theme of going on an adventure is very suitable for my children. They are enjoying the games while learning how to type. Sometimes they even ask to play it. My sons are 6 years and 8 years. My 6 year old is diligently going through it and enjoys the games. My older one is simply trying to beat his previous score. In one summer he has gotten up to 12 words per minute with over 95% accuracy. I'm pleased with the software. It's very affordable too.

I have a grandson who is very clever at most things. Public schools failed to teach cursive by the fifth grade, stating that he would do most things with a keyboard. However, they failed to teach keyboarding, too. When our boy was accepted into a gifted program, he was told he should know both cursive and keyboarding at the beginning of school. An adult typing program did not grab and hold his attention. I ordered the Typing Instructor for Kids 4 and used that for a few weeks of summer at about fifteen minutes on the computer per day. He now types with the best of them. The child entered sixth grade with confidence and abilities.

I bought this program for my 8 year old twins - and they just loved it! They really felt successful playing the games and beating them. everything is just right for that age group. best of all - they are learning to type!

Don't by this. I've tried it on two different computers and two different operating systems.

I've never used this software because I could never get the audio component to work. After repeated attempts to download "files" to fix this problem from tech support I finally gave up. I regret downloading those files as I believe those files have compromised my system, a brand new Dell. The Tech support staff is inadequately trained and just knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. I never got the same answer from anyone I talked to.
