GTR Evolution will come with new game modes, of which the Arcade Extreme game mode is the most noticable. In this mode the emphasis is shifted from realism to action and fun. In Time-Trial a feature is added called the Race-Line. This raceline is inspired by the race-line in GTR2, but features much more options. As one of the reviewers pointed out, if you liked GTR2, you will surely like GTR Evolution. I have not played Race 07, however compared to GTR2, this title expands on the awesome pedigree of the series by providing the user with a different selection of cars, tracks as well as some graphics and AI upgrades. All the great physics and realism are there and this game is such a delight to play with Logitech G25 wheel. I have played all the new titles that came out in the past few years such Dirt 1 and 2, GRID, NFS Shift, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and I keep coming back to GTR2 and GTR Evolution because the depth and realism of these games remain unmatched. If you are passionate about cars and racing sims, then there are no better games than GTR Evolution and GTR2 for you to play.

I bought this game for one reason, the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Damn, that track is truly "Green Hell", but it only is worth the money.

The title of this review is not an understatement.
I got this game in October, 2008 and became completely immersed in it. I'm going to tell you up front that you cannot effectively play this game without a Racing wheel/pedal set. I played it with an XBox 360 controller for two months and as soon as I got a Thrustmaster Universal Challenge Racing Wheel/Pedal set, I learned the true meaning of car control. There are things you can do with a wheel that you just can't do with any other controller when it comes to racing games. Trust me. You must get a wheel to play this game. I'd suggest the Thrustmaster Universal Challenge wheel (which is what I am using at the time of this review), but the upshift and downshift levers are plastic and will brake like mine did (I had to remap up and down shifts to buttons on the wheel, which wasn't a problem)and this wheel measures 8 inches compared to the Logitech MoMo. Haven't had it long so I can't tell you how it holds up over the long haul, but since I practice daily and race weekly, I may find out sooner than I think. You want the MoMo for a variety of reasons, not the least of which are that it has steel paddle shifters and a sequential gear shift. But back to the point of this game.
The Graphics are amazing and the realism is astounding. You're going to want to download and install STEAM to get the full use of this game when you go racing online. Single player is fun but the REAL fun is when you join a racing league and race against other racers online. That is where this game shines and kills other Racing SIMS. This game's only competition comes from a product made by the same guys. That product is GTR2.
