Sounds like it doesn't work on MACs October 27, 2009 Clarence L. Knoth Jr. (St. Petersburg, FL United States) The first disk I put in my iMAC mini got stuck in the drive and I tried everything to get the disk to eject without success, but the disk finally pushed itself out the next day. While it was in the drive it did not work. Out of curiousity I put the phrase book disk in, which did work, but it also would not eject although I tried everything, and it finally ejected a couple of hours later on its own. My iMAC mini is fairly new, and all my other disks work well.
Amazon was great about the return and gave me prompt credit on my credit card once they received the merchandise from me.
Wish I could buy this! October 19, 2009 Madyk (USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved Topics' French about 10 years ago when attempting to teach myself French. I wanted to start again but I now use Macs and this isn't available for Macintosh platforms. I do have the Parallels program (in which you can launch Windows programs on a Mac) but the program is a bit dodgy, so I don't like using it. I just purchased Rosetta Stone for this reason. Haven't used it yet, and from the demonstration looks pretty good (far better than Berlitz' crazy convoluted program) but since it's missing translation, I wonder what might be missing from my learning experience. We'll see...
Would be nice if it loaded. October 7, 2009 Princess Peanut (Orange County, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased the Mac OS X version and still haven't ever managed to get it to load and run.
I'll be sticking with Rosetta Stone from now on, because even if it's pricey, at least it runs and works!

Useful, but a little difficulty getting started. Even with Vista I still had to go online and get a couple of downloads to run the program. The software is good though, being able to hear the words spoken is very helpful.
