Still fun after all these years January 2, 2010 Annie Laurie I don't play electronic games, for the most part, but years ago, as a graduate student, I remember playing one of the King's Quest games. Since then, I have never seen anything else quite like it, with the same mix of puzzles and adventure. If you also enjoyed playing these games, then you will love this package. It's all that you remember!
King Quest Collection December 16, 2009 Crystal Peterson 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is meant for older versions of windows so it ran a little weird and i couldnt get past some parts of the game because of how fast my computer ran. and the game is impossible to win without cheating.
A great adventure! September 22, 2009 Grace (San Franciso, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I grew up with Sierra and King's Quest, so I have always been a fan. It's definitely engaging, however it is sort of difficult to progress through the game without a walk-through tutorial, it's not the most intuitive game to be able to figure out on the whim. However look online and find walk-through tutorials (they're everywhere) and you'll have a blast with the game. The early versions of the game such as 1-4 have typing commands, instead of the point-and-click, but it helps to start kids off typing. I know it definitely helped me learn to type faster and more often when I was a kid playing this game. But the newer editions of the game 5-7 are all point and click with a mouse, and that's fun too, but not as rewarding in my opinion to point and click the entire time through a game. But that's how the evolution of gaming has turned. But definitely good clean fun, but definitely a looong game! So it's engaging for the kid to continuously try to master through levels of the game.
Classic Adventure-gamey Goodness September 9, 2009 Dragonflai (Fairehaven) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you like classic adventure games, this is the game for you! I grew up on these things, and they're great. They also improved my spelling and typing skills, since the first four are text-based.
Come in expecting legacy graphics and sound, not modern graphics and music/voices. Come in expecting great stories, challenging puzzles, humor, bad puns, literary references, and you won't be disappointed!
Great compilation of old school rpg's. May 25, 2009 Benjamin W. Wright (Pomona, CA USA) 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this collection because I like old school point and click rpg's. About 3 of the KQ games in this collection are text driven so I didn't even bother playing them. The other 5 are point and click. This is a great collection if you like classic point and click adventures. They don't make games like this anymore which I think adds to their charm. So if you want to do some leisurely adventuring, then grab this great collection!
