Typing Instructor September 18, 2008 My kids love it. My 4 yr old and 9 year old are both enjoying it and hopefully use to the full.
Got stuck after the first level. September 7, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
My child cannot proceed with the next level/lesson because he says it got stuck on the 1st one. I haven't looked at it yet, but any decent program should automatically advance to succeeding level. Hopefully, I can make it work when I find time to mess with it.
Great September 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great typing program. Both my kids ages 8 and 12 used it.
Fun for kids August 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had tried to get my 9yo son to learn typing from a program geared for adults. It was not enjoyable for him. He really enjoys this program and has learned so much. Even my 5yo daughter loves it. The games and exercises are very good. I read some comments about poor graphics before buying this. My children haven't said anything about this. I certainly don't think it's an issue. This was well worth the money. I wish I had purchased this sooner and not pushed the adult typing program on him.
Bored my sons to tears...and me too August 11, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this because of the excellent reviews, but my 8-year-old and 6-year-old sons found it horrible. I thought they were just being whiny, so I ran the program myself. Turns out my sons weren't just complaining! The characters are undynamic to the point of uninteresting. So we also tried SpongeBob Typing a month later and found it much more engaging. SpongeBob Typing also did a better job of controlling the children's progress so they would be ready for the games and drills, and for moving to the next lesson. Typing Instructor moved them before they were ready -- perhaps attempting to compensate for the dull nature of the game with premature advancement.
Ugh, look for my copy of Typing Instructor II on ebay!
