| Customer Reviews: Solo play underdeveloped April 23, 2009 Jonathan D. Osborn (Santa Monica, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just switched over to a Mac from PC and was looking for a game program that included backgammon. The reviews all seemed very positive. The graphics are nice enough, but the solo play feature for backgammon is a very bad joke. The game repeatedly makes
really stupid moves. The implementation of the doubling cube also problematic. Since the game does not stop between rolls, one can only implement a double after your roll. Not very satisfying.
Fun but could be better June 3, 2007 Susan Miller (Minneapolis MN) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This game is fun for a short time but gets boring really quick. The computer player comments get old really fast.
Made me enjoy chess for the first time in my life March 18, 2007 tukewl4u720 (Massachusetts, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My copy of big bang board games came already installed in my macbook, but had I been able to play them before buying the mac, I would've bought them anyway. You can play against the Sun or Moon characters, or online against others, or in the "hotseat" against a friend (the camera in the mac puts your picture up when you're playing if you wish). The game contains chess, checkers, backgamman, four-in-a-row, tic tac toe, and a few others as well. You can play normal or "fantasy" versions of each game--the fantasy versions simply change the colors of the pieces and/or make the board/game larger in scope. The Sun and Moon characters are amusing with their comments, and you can change their abilities across a wide variety, so its fun for beginners and experts alike. I didn't know how to play backgammen, though I had tried to learn before, and this taught me very quickly. I love this set. Very fun.
Freeverse's ultimate addition to the Deluxe Board Games December 22, 2004 123sandy (new york, new york USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
When the Deluxe Board Games was the best there could be, the Big Bang Board Games! It uses the iChat application to play 7 (I think) fantastic games. With the click of a button you can send your "game key" to anyone on your buddy list. Even if your friend dosen't have it, you can send the whole game to him/her with the click of another button. The games are great and the interface is amazing. The backround music is very pretty. Overall, this game is completely worth it.
