One of the all-time best November 9, 2009 James L. Gambrell (Morris, MN USA) Without a doubt in my mind this is one of the best RPGs ever made. However, there are some caveats. This game defines the western RPG. The emphasis is on freedom, freedom to craft spells and potions supported by a crafting system free of arbitrary limits, free association with guilds, freedom to steal and murder, etc. Fans of story-driven RPGs may be a bit turned off. This game is about exploring the setting.
Most open-ended game ever October 11, 2009 Gabriel N. Saulter (MPLS, MN) I use to play this game on x-box and never beat it. I bought it, because I like the older style play rather then the new Oblivion expansion. If you like RPG's and enjoy unlimited possibilities for your game I would recommend this. This is a must buy!
Great game August 10, 2009 Deimos (Alberta) The second best game ever made next to Oblivion, however the water effects in this one is far better than Oblivion Im unsure why the hell they changed it.
It's a Small World After All................ August 1, 2009 Maxamilion Bujak (Tucson, AZ USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this game after playing it at a friends house and got addicted to it.I started playing The Elder Scrolls III:Morrowind in 2005,so I played it before Oblivion came out. When I first started playing,I was hooked on it.But I began to realize that while the storyline and gameplay were very very open,it wasn't very open as far as its land.I've always been waiting for a game were there is open gameplay,an open storyline,AND an open world.I've had people tell me "You should play Arena or Daggerfall"I've seen that it's buildings and cities all look the same.I guess what I'm looking for is a game with better graphics(although the graphics have improved EXTREMELY since Daggerfall so thumbs up there)and a larger world.I'm hoping one day there will be an Elder Scrolls game that takes you through the entirety of Tamriel without it all looking the same.Like Arena meets Oblivion(as far as graphics with Oblivion).I'd also wish they'd make enchanting and Spellcrafting available to all players(I'm saying like in Oblivion you had to get into the Arcane University)from the start of the game. While I'm on this subject let me talk about why this was a problem for me.
When playing oblivion I finished all but 2 reccomendations.I had to do Bravil and Skingrad. When I tried to do Bravil the this fetcher Kud-Ei wouldn't fricken give me a quest for a reccomendation.Since nobody could give me an answer I deduced that I had to help her with a little problem involving a friend of hers,Henantir.Well I tried it and fricken got killed!!!!!!So I think it's kinda jacked up that she won't give you the quest.Maybe after you do that quest she'll give a reccomendation,I don't know. But whatever!!!!!!!Bethesda could've done better on that. Some people found the Henantir quest quite easy. Some people laughed at me saying"That's the easiest quest in the whole game".BURN IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All in all-getting back to Morrowind-it's a great game worth buying if you don't mind a small world.Considering it was made in 2002 it's definately one of the greatest RPGs of the 21st Century .Oblivion was better though.
Dlwynn's Morrowind Review July 18, 2009 Del Paige (Baltimore,MD. U.S.A.) I picked up a copy of this game shortly after it's realise 7 yrs. ago after my brother made me aware of it's exsitance, for the X-Box.I loved what I saw of Morrowind so much I bought an X-Box just to play it.Paid like $200.00 some dollers at the time for the unit and the game. That's how GREAT!!! Morrowind is.The game indeed is my all-time favorate.I STILL play it today.Morrowind is everything I imagined an RPG should be,(Only if they made a Final Fantasy etc. like this, hint ,hint game makers). That said, the game does have it's problems w/freezing up /crashing lots further into the game. How to deal w/ this, lots of patients and save often :).I own a few copies for both X-Box,and PC.Like I said, this games THAT GOOD!!!.Would give it 5 stars rating, however, nothing is perfect.41/2 stars here.So RPG'ers ,do yourself a favor.Stop reading this and go get yourself a copy while supplies last,it IS 7 yrs. old you know and affordable...presently,New for around $20.00 U.S. bones from any vendor, and get 1000's of hrs.of fun.
