Product Description Step Right Up! Discover the Circus with Putt-Putt! Mr. B.J. Sweeney needs you and Putt-Putt to help his five main acts get ready for the show. They will encounter challenges and have fun at the same time.
Amazon.com Review Putt-Putt and Pep are on their way to the circus, and they're looking forward to three rings of fun. Unfortunately, a hungry goat eats their ticket, so the car and his canine pal must earn their way to a ringside seat. Fortunately, the circus owner has some serious problems, and he enlists Putt-Putt to solve them. The reward--if he succeeds in getting the circus up and running--is a free lifetime ticket to the big top. Putt-Putt Joins the Circus is a role-playing adventure for children between 3 and 8 years of age. The various circus performers are all refusing to do their shows, and Putt-Putt must change their minds, either by finding a lost item or winning a simple arcade-style challenge. The puzzles and arcade games are easy and straightforward, and users will find extensive animated sequences sprinkled throughout the story. Along the way, they can help out a number of talking vehicles and friendly circus animals. One word of warning: older players may find the animations too lengthy, and the simplicity of the challenges means they will finish the game quickly. Putt-Putt is an appealing character and he shines in this game, which features large, colorful graphics, great sound, good humor, and a nice mix of storytelling and problem solving. Putt-Putt Joins the Circus also comes with a parent/teacher guide, which suggests methods of reinforcing the lessons of teamwork and kindness that are the game's themes, a nice supplement to the gaming experience. --Alyx Dellamonica
Amazon.com Product Description Send your kids to the Big Top with Putt-Putt Joins the Circus, featuring a crazy cast of circus characters for kids to interact with, entertaining puzzles, and mini-arcade-style games. Putt-Putt Joins the Circus also contains a number of beautifully hand-drawn backgrounds, hundreds of entertaining computer animations that are activated with the click of a mouse, and a few musical suprises.

Great game... November 4, 2009 Avid Dad (Burlingame, CA) My daughter loved this game. She just beat it and was so excited to show me. I had to help her in one part, but I have a feeling next time she won't need my help. Putt Putt is her favorite Humongous character. We have all the games. Too bad they don't make these games anymore. We finished the Freddi Fish games and now the Putt Putt games. I guess we will have to move on to Pajama Sam or Spy Fox.
Putt Putt is fun to watch, decent voice over and puzzles are just the right difficulty for 3-6 years old. Even if they are too easy, they are still fun. I think my daughter will be asking to play this again in a few months. I hate to say it, but I enjoy helping her beat these games.
Oh yeah, these games are old, so make sure you buy the Windows XP version if it is available. But if not, Vista will let you install using an older version of Windows. Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Use an older program with this version of Windows. Good luck!
Superb Kids Game January 20, 2009 X. Rawls (Louisville, TN) I purchased this for a friends daughter having purchased the whole series for my son (18 now). Each of the Humongous adventure games teaches children teamwork, problem solving and manners in a graphically entertaining interface. The games engage the child's interests and provide hours of good, clean fun! My son has very proficient problem solving capibilities which I attribute to his Humoungous game playing. Freddi the Fish is a female "can do it" character which he also enjoyed (and I liked since it taught him girls are capable too). You can't go wrong with this series of kids games!
Runs on Linux! September 6, 2008 helpdeskdan (Midland, Mi United States) Appears to run great on Linux Wine (Google it). Runs full screen - not all games will do so (like Jumpstart Toddlers which runs fine, but won't switch to fullscreen). My three year old loves it, though 3 may be a little young for this game. 5 stars, given that you can get very cheap. Also, it will run on very old computers. (Even if they are running Linux)
For my 16 grandchildren August 10, 2008 Ian D. Morgan Brilliant game- kept the grandchildren occupied for hours - and they're still playing the game (and so are their parents)
StoryMaker's Putt-Putt Circus Review July 17, 2005 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
It annoys me how it never changes. Hey, Humongous Entertainment! Just because the Time Travels game gets bad reveiws for its complexidy dosen't mean your new game should never change! Anyways, I also do not like how you put Philipe and his flea circus gang on Pep. I made up Action Peps, lots of Peplike dogs (Regular Pep, the original, is one of them) and Mean Action Putt-Putts (but Regular Putt-Putt is good). And the bear you take them off of has to be pretty small because when you press the arrow button on the Magnifind glass, after a few seconds it makes a honking noise and you can't scroll any more. I also don't like Putt-Putt's new adult voice. But the first time you play it still captures the fun problem solving idea, so it gets an extra 2 stars. In Freddi Fish 4 you can give people a taste of your spices but you can't share the peanuts in this and if I went to a "Only 1 bag of peanuts per person!" circus I'd be mad!
KEYBOARD TIPS: In most Humongous Entertainment games, S&L keys will save or load progress. If not working, click menu button. ESC key will skip through cutscenes and period key will skip current character's line. F1 opens help file, I think.
