classic September 24, 2008 K. Feher (Dayton, OH) I used to play treasure mountain when i was a kid and its one of those games that you never forget. as i grew up i was always itching to play it one last time. ( and by one last time i mean "a million more times")!!
Excellent Game February 9, 2008 Steven Dogiakos (Missoula, MT USA) This game single handedly laid the foundation for my reading and mathematics skills and my addiction/enjoyment of video games. I played it nearly every day for about 3 years and played it often after that. At the time (when it first came out) I didn't even know it was an educational game! I highly recommend this and any of the other Treasure games.

My son and I tried to play this game, we were excited because it looked so fun and the description sounded great. But upon playing it, we couldn't figure out how to get items or move places. Very boring and frustrating, not to mention a HUGE disappointment. Graphics are pretty lame too. The picture on the front of the case makes it look so much better than it is. Don't be deceived. Don't bother buying.
Yep, a terrific game! February 5, 2003 Magasht (Canoga Park, CA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This too was one of my childhood favorites, along with The Learning Company's, Writing and Publishing Center, and another one who's name alludes me. The one I speak of was where you had to go around collecting clues to figure out which robot was about to do something bad(sorry, my memory on these games is foggy, all I remember is I LOVED them, and I can remember a bit of the gameplay). Anyways, this game taught me many vital skills at a young age, and overall helped my development. I'm 18 now, and I am not shy at all to say that I too would also be reliving my childhood with a replay of this game every now and then.
Even for the older kids December 28, 2001 Katharine Leigh (Minnetonka, Minnesota) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This was my favorite game when I was younger. If we still had it on our computer I would play it! I think it teaches reading and maybe a little math too. The best part about it is advancing in levels. As I remember it, you start on the first level of the mountain. You catch elves and and read their clues to find treasures in objects on that level. Once you've gained all of the treasures you move up to the next level of the mountain(by ladder, waterfall,or door?)You do the same for every level of the mountain, until you get to the last level where after you collect all of the treasures, you have to do a little ladder maze to get to the room to put all of the treasures away(in the treasure chest)then, you come back to your collection room(where you keep your treasures you earn from each game)with one treasure. It's fun to get more and more treasures as you play. Watch out though, as the levels advance the elves get more mischievious (they sprinkle you with dust and take your coins) This is a perfect game for any age kid. It's good for the little kids because they learn without realizing it.
