 Good thing for a kid September 15, 2009

Got DS lite and only educational titles. Well kid voluntarily was doing math....sure would not substitute parenting, but if the kid enjoys it-well worth the money. Now in the second grade, way ahead of the grade level now. Letting kid reinforce all the knowledge explained to her with the game helped.

I thought it would be in game form verses ordinary problem form.
You could buy flash cards that do the same thing.

My 6 year old really enjoyed the equation building game and the "UNO" type game. I like that you have the option of being timed or not. I purchased the Spelling Challenges and more games as well, but found that being timed can be very discouraging for a 6 year old just starting out with his spelling.
Too hard for kids to grasp instructions (for a change) June 3, 2008

For a change, I had to help my kid figure out how to use this game. It was frustrating. Once we figured it out, I found it entertaining for a brief while, as did my kid, then we both lost interest. The Nintendo DS brain age games have math-type games that are much more fun. This one was obviously produced quickly and with little thought or field testing, just pumped out to have a product. Hope they improve it.

This game is pretty good for a math game. I'm an adult gamer, and I wanted something to help improve my math skills. This game is actually good for that. My biggest problem with this game is that it freezes. There's one game where you have to position the cards to form an equation. It's good brain exercise, but the game freezes each time I reach the 10th question. At first I thought it was a fluke, but it happens each time I play that particular game. Aside from that annoyance, I have no complaints. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a copy that doesn't freeze.
