Amazon.com Product Description
Approaching the last quarter of the 18th century, a tidal wave of change is poised to engulf the American colonies. Sarah Phillips and James Hiller, two young reporters working for Benjamin Franklin, adventure in search of the ultimate scoop for the front page of the Pennsylvania Gazette. Kids encounter soldiers, spies, Indians, Loyalists, statesmen, and townsfolk in a series of adventures that place them right in the middle of one of the most important eras of America's history, the American Revolution.

The primary goal of Liberty's Kids is to provide kids, ages 7 to 12, with a fresh and exciting experience of the extraordinary period in American history, 1773 to 1789. Kids gain insight into the complex ideas, perspectives, and motivations for the American Revolution. Seven historical events set in colonial America, including the Boston Tea Party, the Declaration of Independence, and the crossing of the Delaware, await kids in this exciting educational software game. Each event is can be replayed from different perspectives. Plus, kids can watch mini-movies from the PBS Kids animated series, explore Ben Franklin's inventions, create and print their own newspaper, meet famous historical figures, and much more.

5 out of 5 stars Great Program, Fun way to learn early American history   March 3, 2008
My kids love this game. It's like a cross between Carmen Sandiego and Freddi Fish. You ask the characters questions for information, but you have to search for objects to give the them before they'll give you the answers. What a great way to learn about early American history.

This is great for children. It keeps them interested in history. Gives them all the famous names for the revolutionary war. An excellent addition to anyone who homeschools!

5 out of 5 stars Superior educational game...and tons of fun too!   January 9, 2007

My oldest two kids (ages 8 and 6) LOVE this game. They get assigned an event in Revolutionary War History and have to find people to interview about the event. They put together the comments that they collected to form an article for the newspaper. During the editorial process they will even be prompted to look for a stronger statement to support the evidence. My kids love to play this and they don't realize that they are learning a lot about American History as well as how to write a good informational article. Great Resource!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome history CD-Rom!   February 25, 2006

My 10 year old doesn't like to read, but he loves history. He has really enjoyed this Liberty's Kids CD-Rom, and has shared his printed newsletters with his teachers, who now want to order the CD-Rom. I was amazed at how accurate the information was, and how much fun it was for my son. I highly recommend this for any child who is interested in American History.
