Editorial Reviews:

Description
Physics is a system of models of nature according to which all phenomena are explained in terms of matter and force. Sound confusing? It doesn't have to be! Whether you need help with high school physics, need to review for a college physics class, or you're studying for the AP Physics Exam, this physics tutorial will help you understand the basics, such as Newton's Laws, the Law of Universal Gravitation, Kepler's Law and more. The Physics DVD 2-Pack includes Physics Part 1 and Part 2, both on DVD, at a discounted price.

4 out of 5 stars Nice simplification   May 22, 2008
There are no actual experiments in these DVDs, however, they deserve some credit for this work. I used and still use the DVDs with my 8 year old son. I have almost every title of Standard Deviants that my son learns from since he was 4. They are not all created equally, I must say.
I conduct my own experiments to complement these Physics DVD. I also pause the DVD as necessary to go into depth, or explain with more details. Some people commented that the content is very simple, no real physics, well, it works fine for my second grader. He started watching them over a year ago. And we continually reuse them as he understanding of the concepts increases. However, no quantum physics info...

1 out of 5 stars stupid   May 8, 2008
The problem with standard deviants is that they talk down to the viewer, and constantly make stupid jokes. These are made for little kids or something.
I wanted some real substance, but most of the video is full of stupid antics.

4 out of 5 stars Down Time   November 8, 2007

I definitely think the videos could be more exciting. But if you are really trying to learn physics and are studying on your own. These tapes are a good way to spend your down time away from books and problems. You pick up little nuances that you may not see by staring at a bunch of words in a book.

The DVD's were better than I had expected with such a diverse subject as physics.

1 out of 5 stars I am a High School Physics Teacher...   June 22, 2005

... and these dvds are terrible. All these videos do is read equations to the viewer. Students have a book for that. I was hoping for experiments, fun examples of physical concepts in everyday life, etc., but there was none of this. As a teacher intent on instilling excitement in my students, it is painful for me to watch. Even I got bored and mind-numb after only a few minutes. Don't do this to your students! This video reinforces the notion that physics is only a bunch of equations you have to memorize. I don't believe they did this.
