| Customer Reviews: Workout - great for all levels November 17, 2009 Susan J. Pugh (Southern Indiana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this cd of Valerie's and am amazed if anyone could say it wasn't worth it. Anything to get motivated is worth it!! After years of walking/biking and teaching yoga, I have to admit I've gotten lazy or maybe have chosen the easy route to working out instead of really hitting it. I walk the dogs almost daily, but don't do much else to get stay healthy and fit. This cd, while very simple to follow, is for everyone. And I mean everyone!! You can choose the easy 20 minute routine or go for more sweatin' and do the longer routine. If you are creative, these moves will lead to something more strenuous if that's what you want. But - easy to follow and it will make you smile while getting fit. Hate those routines that you have to have months of practice with to even master. Thank you Valerie! It's been a long time since I've been smiling at the end of a workout session!
The most boring workout ever! November 11, 2009 M. Primrose (New Jersey) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love Valerie Bertinelli. I am enjoying her second book (not as good as the first) but I like her writing voice. I found Christopher to be very easy to follow. The first 20 minute workout is a bit tough if you have knee problems, but actually is a very easy workout and too easy for me.
The second workout is more of a challenge. But my BIGGEST complaint is that it is such a boring workout! The music is sooo "elevator" like. Why couldn't there be good current music playing in the background? Van Halen perhaps? I have other dvd's that accomplish this. You could still hear the instructor.
I was so sick of Valerie complaining about the exercises, enough already. If she is complaining, why should we be excited about it? I do not think they were "having fun" working out as she states in the beginning. I was hoping for more of a cardio challenge. I think the second excercise series is fairly good workout - but I will have my ipod playing fun and inspiring music.
Valerie, did you have any of your girlfriends watch this before you released it? Well, I'm disappointed in the DVD but you do look wonderful.
Swindled and Misled - Disappointed! November 10, 2009 MisTransformation (South Williamsport, PA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am disappointed. My case says that this has two workouts. The first one being 20 minutes and the second being approx. 40 minutes with cardio "bursts." Much to my dismay when I played this DVD for the first time the second workout was only approx. 30 minutes with no cardio "bursts." That was specifically why I bought the video. It seems with some research there are two versions of this and I was an unlucky person who had one version of the DVD and a different version of the packaging. Did Gaiam not think that people would notice this? The version of this video that I have is really for beginners or maybe on light days. I absolutely love Val and I know this isn't her fault but I'm really upset that I bought this and wasted my money. She is way too good for this company mistake.
Best workout DVD! October 13, 2009 David G. Guinn 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
I truly believe that Losing it and Keeping Fit is the best workout DVD to come to market in many years. It is easy to follow, challenging and fun. Valerie's personality is so real and her relationship with the trainer (Chris)keeps the workout fun. Lastly, the workouts are very effective and full of variety. Chris does seem to like lower body type moves, which is great for the legs. Kudos to Gaiam for once again bringing a great product to market.
AWESOME DVD!! October 12, 2009 J. Pisoni (Los Angeles, California United States) 12 out of 17 found this review helpful
Over the years, I have bought lots of workout DVDs but this is by far the BEST and refreshingly different from all of the rest. There are two full length workouts that anyone can do - cardio bursts & sculpting combined plus two killer ab routines. The workouts are challenging for those who are in great shape and Christopher shows modifications for those just getting started. You can easily follow what you're supposed to be doing without hitting pause every minute and rewinding. And what I like the best is that it's just Valerie and Christopher. It's like they're working out right along side of you. I doubt there are two more likable, down-to-earth people that you'd want to work out with. I can totally relate to Valerie asking Christopher if he's counting - it's just what you're thinking when you're doing the workout. . . please let there be only one more! This is a great DVD!!
