| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Ryan White became a national poster child for HIV/AIDS in the United States after being expelled from school because of his infection. A hemophiliac, he became infected with HIV from a contaminated blood treatment and, when diagnosed in 1984, was given six months to live.
Though doctors said he posed no risk to other students, when Ryan tried to return to school, many parents and teachers rallied against his attendance.
In a rare interview, Ryan and his mother describe what it's like to live with HIV while dealing with the trials of growing up. It's a remarkable profile of patience, courage and determination.
This program also includes a report from April 5, 1990 that has Ryan answering questions from school children.
Airdate: 3/2/88 and 4/5/90

| Customer Reviews: An interview with Ryan White February 14, 2010 Jane M. Wilkins (NH, USA) This video is well done for it's time. This was a courageous young man who taught us all a lot. I use this in training my nursing assistant students.
This DVD doesn't work! November 2, 2009 David Arnold (Ann Arbor, MI USA) At roughly the 6:30 mark, the DVD fades to black in the middle of a segment and never comes back on. I returned the first one purchased, and the second one did the same thing. In looking at the other reviews, I'm not the only person to experience this. Customer service was wonderful in terms of the return; however, I strongly suspect this batch of DVD's is flawed. I purchased this for classroom use and think it would have been an excellent teaching tool had it worked.
Two copies, neither worked February 20, 2008 Emily Wallman 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I purchased one copy and it didn't work so I returned it and got another. The second copy didn't work either. Both played for about 7 minutes and then played a black screen.
