Great DVD! September 25, 2009 L. Jobe At first, I wasn't too enthusiastic about this DVD because my daughter has known all her basic shapes for about 2 years now. I got it because I wanted Telling Time and Counting Money, but the set was almost the same price as only getting the 2.
Well this DVD ended up being my daughter's favorite of the group and it taught far more than I expected. I guess I just wasn't expecting rhombus. Anyway, it is really cool to hear something like trapezoid coming out of a 3-yr-olds mouth.
Fun and easy way to learn shapes May 31, 2009 Janette C. Keeton (Franklin, Tennessee United States) We bought this a while back for my daughter when she was 4, and within a couple of viewings she was repeating the chants with enthusiasm and telling me all she was learning, and not just the easy shapes either. She would run around saying "A rhombus is a square that got hit by a bus!" and "A heptagon has seven straight sides!" She learned to recognize those as well as trapezoids, octagons, you name it! The characters (Pent the elephant and Zoid, who is like a cute alien) are very likable too. Now my daughter is older and still enjoys watching this video from time to time with her younger brother, whose is learning his shapes now. One thing I really like is that the video has no previews and is only 20 minutes or so. So I don't feel like I'm parking them in front of the TV for a long time and I know they're learning something.
so so so great March 27, 2009 Marsha Lopez (Miami, Florida) I teach 6th grade and got this dvd for my daughter. I was absolutely blown away. She knows the names (quickly) of some of the shapes that my students do not even know! She's easily learned hexagon, rhombus, octagon, and trapezoid. The story line is very creative and cute and my little girl loves "zoid". Is there a "zoid" doll? My little girl wants one now. This DVD is going to have her way ahead in kindergarten. I'm thankful we picked it up.
my kids love "zoid" January 29, 2009 Christina Eszenyi (Indianapolis, IN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recommend these to all my friends. I teach special education and recommended to the elementary teacher and she loves it too. Utilizes all kinds of learning (visual, auditory, kinestetic) and goes beyond the basic few shapes that most DVD's focus on. Great series,[...]
Love it!!!! December 14, 2008 Mom of Fab 5 (Washington DC, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 3 year old knows what a heptagon is now! Crazy! This video really held her attention. She asks for it all the time!
