Great January 29, 2009 Grand-Ma (New York) I bought this for my grandson who is 8 years old and he enjoys playing it. I have rated this based on his interaction with the game. I had a hard time getting him off...
one of the best games for wii April 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
smackdown vs. raw 2008 is one of the best games for wii. The moves and weapons are great. Doing the motions for the moves are so much fun. But i gave it a four out of five because when you are fighting the computer they dont stop hitting you. That is the only complaint i have with this game. For people who dont like this game and said the graphics are horrible i dont know how they say that. Cause i think the graphics are great on my t.v. The game is one of the best games i played for wii. Smackdown vs. raw 'ROCKS'.
Poor excuse for a game March 24, 2008 KyoLocke 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you're a fan of either wrestling or videogames, look elsewhere, because this will dissatisfy you on both fronts. If you're a fan of neither, you're lucky, as you will be spared from playing this mess.
The Smackdown Vs. Raw games on other game consoles offer a large variety of gameplay and match options. The Wii version does not, but it comes with something the rest of them don't have: unresponsive controls. You'll find more fun and interaction browsing through the menu of a WWE DVD.
It seems like all it needed to pass quality assurance is the fact that a Wii would boot the disc if you popped it in. As a consumer, I am angry that this is available for other saps to purchase, because it will inevitably sell enough copies to warrant a sequel in which nothing is fixed.
Technically, the game isn't broken; I don't believe in my extensive testing did it slow down or crash, but with the lack of action that happens in the game, that's hardly surprising.
Overall, i wouldn't reccomend this game to anybody, except for the makers of this game, because if they played it, they would realize what a steaming pile of turd it is.
you must skip this version March 7, 2008 Bryan A. Jackson My problem with WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 is that, it's been YEARS, and still not many changes to the gameplay have been made. It's all been done before, so there's no more originality left to the series. You can play as all your favorite stars in more quality games released years before this one.
I also hate the fact many moves have been taken out. To me, that's wrong on so many levels. Technology is supposed to improve which in turns allows MORE features in video games. Not so with this game. What a very bad game.
False accusations January 9, 2008 Ziant (Ziantville) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ok um featuring ECW...? Um yea sure. So many things wrong I don't know where to start. ok I went online to look up some codes or something because the game just seemed to lack....EVERYTHING. I wanted to know how to go backstage? How to find tables, fire , barbwire bats, regular bats...anything besides two chairs which are offered ONLY in Hardcore matches and are just lying outside the ring. The codes I found had to deal with GM mode, 24/7 mode and some shop or store...um CAN'T FIND THOSE EITHER? Just stick wit DOR2 (Day of Reckoning 2 for GC/Wii) This is a fun new experience but uh...don't mention the reversals...
How to reverse... swing your arms and hope your character blocks a grapple or strike. If that doesn't work just have to get beat until opponent stops.
Submission system...just move the knob up or down and they'll submit once their gauge is low...yay(yay with sarcasm).
THQ has never recovered since going to GC. N64 still has those "No mercy" and "wrestlemania2000" games that I used to love so much. Will THQ ever get all of those moves and taunts back.
MAIN POINT:
Don't purchase this wait til next yr when there's backstage, tables, elimination chamber, FIRE and just about everything that's more than an ordinary 1,2,3, count fall match.
P.S. I love wrestling games TNA save us
