Fantastic stick for old school games February 8, 2010 Biscuit Face (Iowa City, IA) I'm not a pro gamer, but I am an owner of many, many arcade joysticks and can say with no doubt that this is one of my favorites. It's lightweight - a bit lighter than the smallest Street Fighter sticks for Xbox 360 and PS3, but to my surprise the base didn't move around on my lap and frustrate me during games. It's extremely precise, and the little stick does exactly what you want it to without needing excessive force. The buttons and stick have a solid, quick response with a nice but not intrusive clicking sound.
Also, I really personally like the simple color scheme - matches the Wii colors, simple powder blue joystick and buttons on a white base. I recently traded in a Mad Catz Street Fighter stick for the 360 mostly because I thought the art on the stick looked like someone's cat had thrown up on the thing. It's all personal preference, obviously, but this little stick has a classy style that makes me want to pick it up and play it.
My personal favorites to use the stick for are shooters, like R-Type and Lords of Thunder, and brawlers, like Final Fight 3, Streets of Rage 1-3, and Golden Axe 1-3. It's also entertaining me greatly for use on several other games, including Gunstar Heroes, Comix Zone, Mario Bros., Castlevania IV and Contra III. For racers, like the Mario Kart games, I'm still preferring the Classic Controller. But this Fighting Stick greatly enhances all of the games I mentioned above, and has been well worth the $50 that I paid through Amazon for it. If you used to go to arcades and enjoy the feel of a good joystick, this is a great way to enhance your Virtual Console goodies.
Biased Hori Fan February 3, 2010 William Tyler Gelsthorpe I'm a big Hori fan, so I would only recommend this stick over the MadCatz Tatsunoko vs Capcom stick if you prefer the Hori layout and parts.
Sweet for fighting games | (And other) Arcade games November 15, 2009 Blu (FLA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are buying this product for fighting games (especially those gamers getting tournament ready) this is a pretty good product. Definitely gives that arcade feel, but there needs to be some more really good fighters for the Wii. Like KING OF FIGHTERS 12, and some art that we can tag this thing with. We have to push them to get KOF12 on the Wii, because this would be a great product to use for it, not to mention Street Fighter 4, and Capcom is capable of producing food quality work on various platforms. The Wii has more capability than the GameCube, so they need to get SF4 on the Wii so that we can utilize good arcade sticks like this one even more.
So thats my only problem with the product, there needs to be more to utilize it with. Kind of like the Wii-Speak (adults should be able to chat with everyone or just friends, we need that option to switch back and forth).
Good but not great August 19, 2009 N. HALL 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This stick is ok, but feels kinda small compared to other Hori arcade sticks out there.
This is pretty much the EX2 for the Wii.
The button and the stick feel pretty good, but if you want to add Sanwa or Semitsu parts to it, it's a pain to mod cause all the buttons are soldered on and you have to dremel the case to fit the new buttons in.
If your looking a good stick to play Tatsunko vs Capcom just wait till the game is out, MadCatz is working on a Wii edtion of the SE fight stick (I doubt a TE).
If you can't wait and you import the Japanese version of TvC might be a good idea to pick this up, or even better get the older Japanese Fighting Stick Cubed or the Hori Soul Caliber II gamecube stick (not the nuby) that way it will work with Gamecube games and you won't have any worried with wireless lag or getting banned at a tournament.
Overall I say get this if the price is $39 or lower, if your gonna spend a bunch of money just mod a TE stick with a gamecube PCB.

Great Fighting stick.
I bought it just to play Samurai Shodown.
Hard to perform some moves since it doesn't have the lines in between the four direction on the stick. Also the ball doesn't help much in any of the samurai game, I wish you could change the ball with the other kind which looks like (!) that. I think it will improve handeling or give an option to change the ball. Other than that is pretty good.
