 Better than a hair rake March 19, 2010

Our yellow lab is a virtual hair-release factory. Until we started using this item, we used a "rake"(a steel band with different degrees of coarseness on each side) and the result was hair flying all over the place. With this tool, more hair is removed with each sweep and it is held until released.

All I can say is Wow!
This grooming brush is the absolute best I have ever had. I have 3 dogs; a Black Lab and 2 Siberian Huskies. Lets just say I eat and breath dog fur. LOL! Seriously I received this on Monday the 15th and brushed them all on Tuesday the 16th, what a major difference in my dogs already. Not only does A TON of fur come out it doesn't make you feel like you are working for it. You see results right away the first swipe you are just like huh! I gave my dogs plenty of time to smell it before I used it on them. After I was done brushing my Lab kept leaning against me and looking at me then the brush and was like, ok continue brushing me please. Too funny.
On another note, one of my Siberians has lived out side for the first 5 years of her life before we opened our home to her. Her coat is so difficult to keep up with, it is an outdoor coat and is just so thick. This time of the year where she sheds her winter coat I have had such difficulty brushing her and getting results...until now! I took before and plan to take after pictures in a day or two when I have more time to brush even more out of her she will look completely different. I wanted to give her a break, even though she loves the brushing and attention I figured she has A TON of fur and gave her time to relax in between. But she already looks 95% better then she did. No more clumps of fur ready to let go on my furniture.
I would highly recommend this brush to anybody that has any type of shedding animal! Amazing it will with no doubt reduce fur in the house if used regularly...

Sweet & Savory
I was skeptical with the price of this tool, seems a little high priced. When I first used it, I had to admit how easy it was to release the hair off the comb. After using it for a bit on my cat I almost felt she was going to be bald with all the fur that was being removed. After one point it seemed that along her spine if I would have continued to brush, she would have indeed had a bald strip. It seems a little thin there. So I am worried on the tool. But I still find it to be a useful product

I have a yellow lab who sheds like you would not believe. I have tried everything - frequently brushing/combing him, he eats a high quality food, etc. and still, the shedding was a nightmare. While the Furminator is a little pricey, I highly recommend it. My dog's coat looks better than it ever has and the shedding, while I can not say it is completely GONE, is 85% better than it used to be. I will get rid of all my other grooming products and use only this tool. It WORKS.

I bought this because our dog's (a Golden Retriever) hair always covered the carpet. This necessitated vacuuming 3-4 times a week. The hair also got all over our clothes. After using the furminator these problems are no more! I would only caution against using it more that 1 time a week as it does take off a lot of hair/fur. My wife thinks the dog has a "layered cut" look. Our dog seems to like her brushing now, where before she did not like it at all. I heartily recommend this product.
