Product Description Widescreen technology is everywhere these days, built into virtually every new notebook, desktop monitor and flat-panel TV, and today Microsoft Hardware sets a new standard for webcams with the launch of LifeCam Cinema, the first consumer webcam on the PC to offer widescreen video with a native 720p sensor. The timing couldn't be better, with more and more people going online to share videos with friends and family; in fact, more than 10 million videos are uploaded each month to Facebook alone. LifeCam Cinema webcam's 720p widescreen sensor will deliver clear, quality videos - without leaving anyone out of the shot.

A Very Good Camera November 20, 2009 Douglas E. Blagriff (Baghdad, Iraq) I design and install VTC suites for a living. I compared this unit to Tandberg's 720p Movi camera and found that it was almost the same as the Tandberg unit. This device was about 1/4 of the size and weight of the Tandberg unit. This cost me $60 the Tandberg unit cost $400. For the money and small size it is worth it.
Microsoft LifeCam Web Camera November 19, 2009 Michael Kolarits (Hinckley, Illinois, USA) This is a nice webcam. However, I think that it is a bit overpriced and over reated.
In full resolution, the cam does blur quite a bit and sometimes unexpectly stops and
does not save the file. This has happened to me three times in the month that I have
used it. I think that for the money it would be a 30fps digital movie camera. 24fps
is nice but I think that this contributes to the motion blur I see.
I would also like to try to use it in my Astro Telescope, so that everyone can see,
on the screen, what I see in the stars and planets. It is close to the right size for
the eye piece of the scope so I believe it will work for this purpose as well.
Nice webcam but does not record 720p at 30fps November 18, 2009 Naicu Octavian (Bucharest, Romania) I all my tests (good light, different software) I could not get this web cam to record more than 10 frames per second at 720p resolution (1280x720), even tough everywhere you look (packaging, camera itself, Microsoft website) this web cam is advertised as being able to record 720p@30fps.
To put things into perspective, every webcam with a 1Mpx or bigger sensor can record 1280x720 video. My 2 years old Microsoft Vx 1000 can record 720 @ 5-7 fps.
Other than that it is smaller than it looks, really good materials/build quality, very simple software and has a good microphone.
Great webcam for the price November 15, 2009 K. Converse (OH, USA) This is a great webcam for the price. Works flawlessly for Google chat and MSN.
Microsoft LifeCam Cinema provides excellent contact with grandson November 14, 2009 Lindy Lou (NC) This webcam is far superior to one I used occasionally about three years ago. My grandson appears in all his juvenile glory, much to my delight. Installation of the webcam was extremely easy and the accompanying software was easily installed. It is unobtrusive but easily positioned on my new HP w2338h monitor and is automatically activated when I open Skype to make a video call. I am very pleased with this product.
