Delivering extensive control, gamers can select from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers ever – each with distinct personalities, abilities and weaponry – and jump straight into action as they instantly switch between robot, vehicle and weapon modes to fight for the preservation of all mankind. In addition, for the first time in the Transformers universe, players can also fight the epic war between Autobots and Decepticons online in explosive multiplayer combat.

The Story
Set a few years after the defeat of Megatron in the first game/movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Decepticons reveals that the threat from the Decepticons is in fact, far from ended. Since the time of the epic and apparently not so final battle between the two Transformer leaders, Decepticons have started popping up again all over Earth in alarming numbers. And now, a mysterious object from space seems destined to shift the balance of power and give the upper hand to the Decepticons.

Mission-centric Gameplay
Gameplay in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Decepticons is structured around varied mission play. The variety in these missions comes from the fact that the available play options both parallel the events of the movie at times, as well as focus on events unique to the game. During these missions players will be able to play as a variety of different Transformers, and with success in mission play will be able to unlock additional Transformers and earn points used to upgrade their selected faction. Playable characters include: Starscream, Grindor, Long Haul, and Megatron. In addition, the game features a simple control toggle that not only allows for quick switching between mech, vehicle and weapon forms, but also allows for a more easy learning curve of the acrobatic moves from the movie.

Key Features

  • The Choice is Yours – Players can step into the shoes of their favorite Decepticons, such as Starscream, Grindor, Long Haul, and Megatron, along with other surprise characters that may may an appearance. As they proceed, players will unlock additional missions and items creating a whole new experience with each character chosen.
  • Outmaneuver Your Opponents – Instantaneously convert from a colossal robot to a dynamic land or air vehicle such as a diesel truck, sports car, military chopper or fighter jet. New, ultra-fluid transformations can be performed in-motion anytime and anywhere, allowing players to strategically propel through and decimate hordes of enemies with incredible agility.
  • Decepticon-centric Action – Unique DS exclusive Decepticon-centric storyline, missions and characters.
  • Online Multiplayer - Compete with up to 4 players via Wi-Fi connection, including those playing the companion DS game Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Autobots.
  • Demolish Your Enemies – Each Transformer can unleash a unique array of assaults on its enemies ranging from powerful missile attacks and rapid-fire chain guns to explosive energy blasts and visceral melee strikes, allowing players to pick from a variety of weapons and moves in their character's arsenal that deliver diverse gameplay in every brutal encounter.
  • Intense, Heroic Missions – Every second is precious as players drive, fly, fight and blast their way through gripping, pulse-pounding levels straight from the film and beyond to determine the ultimate fate of the world.

4 out of 5 stars 8 year played game for 6 straight days non-stop   September 13, 2009

We recently went on a family vacation where my 8 year-old was the only child. I brought the game right before we left and he loved every minute of it. I thought he might get bored after a day or so but he never picked up another game the whole trip!!!

3 out of 5 stars FALLEN FAN   August 31, 2009
I ORDERED THIS GAME FOR MY TEN YEAR OLD. HE FEELS IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THE PREVIOUS TRANFORMER GAMES. IT DOESN'T HAVE AS MANY OPTIONS OF PLAY MODES AS THE OTHER TRANSFORMER GAMES. HE DID LIKE THE WEAPONS YOU COULD FIGHT WITH. HE WOULDN'T SUGGEST BUYING THIS GAME.

3 out of 5 stars Better than most of the console versions   August 9, 2009

Just like the last time around, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen gets released on the DS in two versions; the heroic Autobots and the villainous Decepticons. The Decepticons version of the game finds you playing as the usual cast of characters like Megatron and Starscream, taking down foes and pretty much whatever else you'd expect to do here. Happily, Revenge of the Fallen on the DS (either version) is better than the last Transformers offering to hit Nintendo's handheld, and in all honesty, is better than most of the console versions of the game that have been released. The game looks decent despite some muddy visuals, it controls well, and though you are more restricted in terms of exploration and overall gameplay than you were the last time around, it surprisingly ends up working out in the game's favor. While the game itself is pretty short, the local Wi-Fi multiplayer and Battle for Earth mode can be pretty fun on their own. All in all, if you're a Transformers fan, own a DS, and felt burned by the console versions of the game, give either the Autobots or Decepticons versions of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen a try at the least.

4 out of 5 stars Transformers Revenge of the Fallen DS Decepticons Review   July 15, 2009

To start out with, the game does not have the greatest graphics. So if your looking for a ROTF game with excellent graphics, then this is not the game to buy, but what would you expect, its a handheld game. The graphics are good enough. Unlike the PS2 or Wii games you are able to transform whenever you want. The game has 25 levels in the game and they are fairly easy. You do get to create your own character at the beginning and you can choose light, medium, or heavy vehicle body. Overall, I would give it a 9.5/10 for gaming and a 7.5/10 for graphics. The game is nice although I would have like the game to have Autobots and Decepticons in the same game. Oh I almost forgot, most of the game you will be playing as your own character so chose wisely about the light, medium, or heavy. Rating....80/100
