Love it November 20, 2009 Dustin Alexander I bought my PS3 shortly after it released in 2006. I've had it for 3 years and have put a LOT of hours on it since I got it. I knew at the time that buying an original release model meant a good chance of having problems with it. It locked up on me once or twice over the past 3 years, but nothing a push of the reset button wouldn't fix. Sad news today though, I have experienced the yellow light of death. Many Xbox fanboys might point and laugh, but considering the fail rate of the release model 360's, I say that this thing did pretty good. It had a decent run and has served me well over the past 3 years. It survived well beyond its warranty and I got good use out of its many features, most of which the Xbox does not have.(i.e. blue ray, extra usb ports, rechargable controllers, camera card reader, and free online play and internet browsing) The death of the system is the only complaint I can come up with for it, so I am planning on buying a new one since they are only $299 now as apposed to $599 at release. It costs a little more than the 360, but with the extra features, you get what you pay for. When you consider buying an Xbox and a Blu-ray player, your going to spend $300 anyway.
Good but can be better October 29, 2009 E. Wong I have been using one since July 2009 and I would like to say a few things about it. PS3 is a supposedly very advance computer. It could be an awesome media center instead of just being a game console. However, at its current state, it is like a V8 engine running only on 4 cylinders. Partly, this is because it is not being optimized to do anything else but play games and watch video. The internet browser is terrible. It is slow. Worse, it can hang if you go to certain sites where its browser does not support. It also hangs sometimes, while transitioning in a game, and after watching a dvd or blu ray. This is especially annoying because I use it mainly to watch bd and dvd. I'm not sure why it does that but I hope future firmware updates will fix these issues. Otherwise, the quality of the video playback from blu ray, dvd or game, is simply fantastic.
great system recommended it October 28, 2009 Rene Joseph 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had an xbox 360 for 8 months sold and got the ps3. So far i had it about 3months. And have no proplem with it except it froze like 1 or 2 times. Besides that it work great. So far loving it better than xbox 360
Best Entertainment system of all time! October 25, 2009 C. Peterson (Atlanta) I've made a review on the Xbox 360 and rated it as the best gaming console, PS3 is the best entertainment console.
PlayStation 3, gives you a TOP OF THE LINE Blu Ray player for less money than a stand alone player would cost, you also get a HD gaming console capable of 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. The PS3's internet browser allows you to surf the web, without turning on your pc or such, making viewing websites or youtube or such easy.
PS3 also get's updates very often, therefore allowing you to feel and know that your software is always updated. PSN's online gaming service is great, I would rate Xbox Live 93% and PSN 90%, that's great and they both surpass Ninetendo's Online Gaming by far!!
Even though I like playing my 360 much more than PS3, if I had to make a choice I would pick the PS3, simply but its a 1,000$ - 2,000$ gaming system, that your getting for 299$, so it's a huge steal, because it's wayy under-priced.
I love it! October 23, 2009 phatso (Florida) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
