Fun House! November 12, 2009 Nuknuk (Springfield, VA United States) This is a very fun game. You are getting 2 games in 1 disc in this package. HODT 3 is also fun with much improve graphics, but I bought it for the classic arcade HODT 2. This is the one I played in the arcade; this is the one I played with my son many times. Cheesy language and acting are just part of its nostalgic appeal. Was not that scary and even somewhat funny at times. Resident Evil and even Doom II is much scarier in my opinion. You can also change the blood color to green to reduce the gore if you want.
You cannot go back where you left off, you really don't need to as the game is not that long. Every time you die you get more and more power that soon enough you get power-ups and items that will help you defeat the game. Some of the best items are infinite bullets and infinite credits.
It is more fun if you play 2 players with a friend. Although you can play this with a gun in each hand if that is what you want. Not an ideal party game as you cannot play with more than 2 players. The game can be played with the Wiimote alone, but you will enjoy it better with an accessory that feels like more as a gun. The 2 most popular are the Perfect Shot by Nyko, and Wii Zapper by Nintendo. I prefer the Perfect Shot as it looks more like a real pistol while the Zapper is bulkier and longer.
Too bad, I wonder why they replaced the concept and instead included much cursing and F-bombs on the 4th sequel, HODT: Overkill.
Terrible Game October 26, 2009 BDK (Dallas, TX) 0 out of 8 found this review helpful
Do not purchase this game. This is terrible and the second player option does not work.
Good for while but..... August 29, 2009 Pedro Cesar (Caracas, Venezuela) I bought this game in order to have a nice OLD game I played as a kid at home. It is a very good port of an old arcade. I recomend to see in Youtube the gameplay and then buy it if you want. However, after several hours of play the game lost its charm. That does not mean it is a bad game. It only means the game does not offer something new.
Fun with the Wii Shotgun June 26, 2009 CENA ROCKS!!! (Queens NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am NOT a fan of shooting games, and I'm not a fan of horror games at all. I got this game because I just wanted to try a game that went with the Wii Shotgun. It's actually a really fun game.
It's very challenging, but I keep retrying and retrying because it's so fun blasting zombies' heads off. It's not even scary, it's just funny. You'll find yourself trying again and again to defeat the Wheel of Fortune in House of the Dead 3 and that boss in the water area in House of the Dead 2. Maybe it's just the charm of arcade games that keeps you wanting more.
It's a classic and a must-have. The House of the Dead spells a good time.
Zombie Blaster June 11, 2009 Adam Bey-wagner (Connecticut, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Lots of options allow the game to be replayed alot and not seem so redundant. Every time you beat it you unlock new extras. Having 2 games in 1 disc lengthen the life of the experience. It's not very hard to get the hang of, so even novices will be entertained. Worth checking out.
