What A Blast!!! October 16, 2009 Jackie Montoya (Albuquerque, NM USA) This game is enjoyable for all ages. My 4 year old loves the trampolin. My 16 year old enjoyes the track and swimming. I like all the games I don't think I could just pick one. On Family day we play board games and the wii, we have over 50 wii games and this is the one everyone goes for.
Mario & Sonic Review October 1, 2009 SQ (Alameda, Ca.) My daughter, aged 7, wanted this game because her cousin has it. I check other reviews on this game and most liked it. It is a fun game, but I have played it only a little, so I need more time on it.
Beautiful & cute graphic + 20 games + Easy control schemes + Wii remote does not work with Fencing September 20, 2009 Cestmoi
- Beautiful and cute graphic.
- There are 20 games. That's more than enough to make me happy.
- The games are easy to play but not easy to win.
- At the beginning of most of the games, there are clear instructions on how to use the controls. Control schemes are easy to follow. Once in a while there's no instruction to play the game which makes it's confusing at first. For example, the shooting game has no instructions.
- Up to 4 players can play in each game. That's good for families or parties.
- The largest weakness is Fencing game. However, it's an inherited problem of the Wii remote not of the game developer. I've read many reviews on the Internet and found out it's just a 2-dimension sensor. It's not a true 3-dimension. As a result, it does not work properly with fighting games. When you thrust it back and forth, most of the time, your moves are not registered with the console. Therefore, your avatar does not respond accordingly. That's why Wii remote is not suitable for fighting games such as Transformers, Dragon Quest Swords, Fencing (in Mario& Sonic at the Olympic Games).
We've tried Wii Motion-Plus with Grand Slam Tennis. Despite Nintendo's claims, it does not work for my friends and me either. You can check with your friends and see why most of them don't buy Wii Motion-Plus.
In short, this game deservers 4 stars. I took away one star because it does not work with Fencing. It's still a keeper. I own it. It's great fun to play with my friends and family.
ok same as most wii games September 12, 2009 S. Schmidt (United States) Graphics are better for this game. But it's the same game done for Wii over and over. You shake the remote in different ways for the mini games. As with most Wii games so far it doesn't fully use the motion sensors the way you think it would. It's a good game for families or children. For people in their 20's or 30's it lacks skill, strategy, or thought.
A Kids Review by CK August 26, 2009 Jen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If your kids are interested in the Olympics they should get Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games! There are a lot of games such as racing, archery, gymnastics, track, aquatics, fencing and more. The graphics are perfect. Each character has their own game that they are good at. (skill, speed, all around ect.) You can play up to four people, which I like to do with my siblings and cousins. Last but not least it is great exercise.
