Microsoft LifeCam Is Great September 12, 2009 Elaine A. Duddy (Nyack, NY) I was able to get two cams for the price of one and that's the best part of the deal. We are really enjoiying our video sessions with family across the country. Very good value!
Lifecam is OK August 31, 2009 Moon Doggy It works OK with Skype and with Windows live.
The button on top of the camera is annoying as it tries to force using Windows Live. It takes some time to get the video and audio adjustment setting right for your room but once you do that, the picture is OK.
good product! August 24, 2009 Helen Morrison (Huntington Beach/Santa Cruz, CA) It's worked really well especially since me and my boyfriend are in a long distance relationship!
Quite fast August 9, 2009 Adam Mcbride The item arrived much faster than I anticipated and they were, as had been promised, brand new. However, the item was packed in an envelope that was barely big enough and the original packaging of my item was somewhat damaged. Nevertheless, the items themselves were unharmed and are still in perfect working condition.
six webcams for whole family July 4, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought six webcams in three twin-packs ("One for you, one for your friend"). Webcams each have a built-in microphone, but we don't get good sound quality using the built-in mike. The camera needs to be about 18 - 30 inches away from your face, and the mike picks up too much background noise at that distance. I strongly suggest that you invest in an inexpensive microphone that can be held much closer to your mouth, or even better, an inexpensive headset (headphones & mike combined).
The camera itself is good for our purpose. We basicly use them for video phone calls on Skype. In my computer corner, I added a flourescent light, because that corner is not well lit. Without adequate light, the webcam will not have much image to transmit over the Internet. Don't expect miracles from an inexpensive camera.
Maybe I'm too cynical, but I really don't appreciate that the CD-ROM with the device driver wants me to install extra programs; in this case "Live Messenger" or "MSN Messenger Live" or something like that. Please, I really don't need a program that is going to hijack my webcam off into the grasp of the Microsoft Empire.
