4 out of 5 stars Adequate Charger for My Simple Uses!   September 24, 2009

This review is for; Energizer® 15-Minute AA and AAA Charger with Car Adapter.

I like this charger a lot because of its convenience to charge batteries very quickly and its ability to charge either one, two, three or four AA or AAA batteries at once. The blinking different colored lights during the charging process are very helpful. Solid red when charging, green when ready and it blinks red if the batteries are not properly connected. Sometimes you might have to either move the batteries slightly or wipe the contacts to establish the charging cycle properly. The fan does make some noise, but I don't feel it is too loud. Still the fan does its job at keeping the batteries cool because I used to use Energizer's overnight charger in which the batteries would get very hot during charging.

However, I feel most of the complaints about this charger are really about the batteries themselves and not the charger. It's hard to compare the convenience of chemical (disposable alkaline or lithium) batteries that can last for many days, months or even years to rechargeable batteries that can essentially discharge themselves from little or no use within days. The only clear benefit of rechargeable batteries is that you can charge them quickly in 15 minutes with this charger as oppose to rushing to the store and spending more money.

So far I am only using this charger for the AA or AAA batteries that I use in simple devices around the house such as flashlights and remotes or my SLR camera external flash that I use occasionally. As far as digital camera use, I think it is better to get a digital camera that comes with its own re-chargeable battery anyways instead of using one that uses AA's. Overall, I think this is still a very adequate charger, but I use it sparingly with the expectation that I know of rechargeable batteries in comparison to disposable batteries.

1 out of 5 stars It lost its life after just few weeks of use   February 2, 2009

This ENERGIZER rechargable NiMH battery die after few charge. It would not hold the charge long enough for my digital camera. Come to find out all 4 battery can not hold the charge more than a week even just sit around.
All I can say is DO NOT BUY THIS CHARGER and BATTERY.

4 out of 5 stars Really charge in 15 mins   December 5, 2008

Pros

1) Charge in 15 mins - 18mins.
2) Green/Red Light indicator to tell you the charge status
3) A powerful fan on the charger. Battery is cool to touch after charging
4) Charge both AAA & AA. Max 4 capacity

Cons

1) Would prefer to have a green/red light indicator for every cell instead of only 1 light.

2) ULTRA LOUD Fan. There is no way u can sleep while this thing charge. Its 3 times louder than the loudest pentium 2 desktop.

If u dun mind the fan noise, then get this charger You will be amaze at the speed.
