Twin 14 month olds will not play with this... November 6, 2009 Nicolette Clark (South Carolina) ...but they will play with the Baby Einstein Takealong Tunes(sold on here for $9.99). Since they play with that so much I thought they'd adore this. But alas, it just sits in the corner of their play room virtually untouched. If I sit down to play with it with them they just walk away. One of my twins will actually go pick up the Baby Einsten musical toy instead, almost to say "I prefer this one, Mom!"(that one is easily handled by a baby/toddler and can be carried around...while this one is very large and akward). The music is "tinny" but not to the point where it's unbearable (the B.E. one does sound better in my opinion). I guess this is just not for every baby!
They weren't impressed November 5, 2009 H. Carter I worked in the church nursery for over 4 years with this toy in one of the toyboxes available to the children. I never saw any of them properly engage with it. They'd pull it out, bang it a couple of times (starting up 2 different sounds) and then get bored and crawl away. It was the one toy I knew I'd never buy for my children.
EXPENSIVE AND POORLY MADE November 3, 2009 S. Alligood (Glen Ellyn, IL United States) This cube is quite large and heavy for the age group that it is marketed at. The end result is, it will fall out of those little chubby hands. But apparently Munchkin never thought of that because ours broke after our daughter dropped it a few times. She didn't drop it out of her high chair or anything, she just dropped it while playing with it on the floor. What a waste of money. I strongly suggest avoiding this toy.
Endless Musicality October 28, 2009 E. Montgomery (USA) Is that a word? (Musicality?) I bought this for my youngest's 1st birthday. She's been playing with it - when she can get to it! My oldest (almost 3yo) seems to have taken over the toy, exploring many of the musical possibilities. So far, this is an excellent toy, and I think it will stand the test of time.
Best investment in a toy October 22, 2009 Katie (Indianapolis, IN) This toy was a gift for my daughter when she was a baby...she's now almost nine and the toy has been used by my three other children as well. My husband and I frequently comment this is the best toy we've ever had. It is nearly nine years old and still works the same as it was brand new! The kids love playing with it! It's great for babies all the way up to 5 year olds. We highly recommend this toy. It is a great investment!
