Product Description The HA-NC250's noise cancellation circuitry includes feedback technology that constantly monitors the noise cancellation process. As a result, the headphones eliminate up to 85 percent of extraneous background noise. To further block noise, the HA-NC250 offers two JVC innovations that help isolate the listener from outside sounds. First, each earpiece employs a double housing structure for an extra sound insulation layer. Second, JVC developed a technique for attaching the headphone's smooth memory foam cushioned ear pads to the housing that helps isolate background noise. The smooth pads also enhance comfort. These sound isolation features, for which patents have been applied, are especially important since the HA-NC250 can be used with the active noise cancellation switched off.For the best possible sound quality, the headphone uses a 40mm neodymium driver in each earpiece. For comfort and portability, the JVC HA-NC250 is one of the lightest headphones in its class, weighing just 5.3 ounces. It folds flat, and when folded is slimmer than most competing models. Included with the HA-NC250 are a slim carrying case, a four-foot detachable cord, airline dual plug adapter, and 0.25 inch plug adapter for use with many home audio and video components. The headphones use a single 1.5-volt AAA battery for powering the noise cancellation circuitry.

Great Purchase for a Great Price September 8, 2008 I was looking to purchase noise cancelling headphones for a flight to Europe. Like most people who wrote reviews, I did not want to spend $300+ on Bose headphones, no matter how superior they are. The reviews I read of these JVC headphones were mostly positive and I took a chance. I must say it has been one of the best purchases I have made in some time. I was able to hear music and DVD sound very well, even without the noise cancelling feature on at times. My wife was using regular headphones and kept making me raise the volume even though it was way too loud for me. Also, our return flight had lots of turbelence and the headphones were a wonder when drowning out the sound of half a dozen sick passengers. If only they had a smell cancelling feature...
Cannot be beat for the price September 4, 2008 I've always wanted noise canceling headphones but have always been scared away by the price...they always seem to be $300+! These JVCs were rated very highly on CNET, outranked only by $350 Bose and $380 Sony headphones. I bought them to make air travel tolerable, to be able to tune out the dull roar of the plane and the din of the airport.
These headphones are extremely effective, light and small, and have great sound. They really allow me to "tune out" completely and enjoy either silence or music/movies on the plane. Mmmm! They're very nicely packaged in a slim, light case. iPod compatible. For the price, around $109 dollars, you cannot beat these headphones. For the same price as the Bose, you can buy a pair for yourself and a pair for your two best friends!!
Noticeable reduction in airplane noise + good battery life August 29, 2008 I purchased this for trip overseas. These headphones work as advertised. The noise reduction is very noticeable and allowed me to watch in-flight movies in comfort. The batteries lasted through the return trip also- I still haven't had to replace them: 24+ hours of total usage. There is some discomfort after wearing these things through 2+ movies (~ 6 hours)- but this is true of all headphones I've tried over the years.
Best value in noise cancelling headphones August 14, 2008 When searching for a new set of headphones I turned to noise cancelling technology. A colleague of mine had bought a pair of the Bose headphones and I was blown away by the noise cancelling performance, and comfort of the headphones on the ear. When I did some reasearch online, I found that the headphones were receiving fantastic reviews, but with two major draw-backs: price (thebose headphones are extremely expensive) and the fact that you could not use the headphones unless you turn on the noise cancelling technology.
These JVC headphones are fantastic. The performance is equal to that of much higher-priced headphones, with the added value of being able to use the headphones even with the noise cancellation feature turned off. And all of that for a fraction of the price. I used these headphones on international flights to and from Europe and they were amazing and made the flight that much more pleasant. I bought a second pair for my wife for the trip, as well, and she absolutely LOVES them.
Great Product August 14, 2008 I purchased these on a recommendation from a friend. I was looking at purchasing Bose QC3 but saw the JVC and compared the price. The JVC are definitely worth the value. I have used them for mowing the lawn and was able to here my MP3 player perfectly.
