Flippin' Easy November 6, 2009 Coleen Kenny (Glen Allen, Va United States) I've only used my Flip a few times so can't comment on battery life, but it's easy to attach to a tabletop tripod, hit the red button and film! Pop the memory stick into the computer and you're good to go. Couldn't be much simpler!
Ever Impressive! November 2, 2009 K. Truesdell (Reno, Nevada USA) This product is great! Small, affordable, and great video quality! My only wish is a zoom in and out feature...
Good Camcorder for the family to use without worry. October 31, 2009 A. Ward (Michigan) I like Flip Video camcorders. I got the first generation version, and I used that one a lot. It was very easy to use. It was very easy to take anywhere without worrying about losing or breaking. Then my kids wanted to use it so I thought I would upgrade to the 2nd generation version for myself. But, the 2nd one I got was no good. It could take videos, and review videos within the unit itself, but the transfer of the videos to a PC hung up all the time. I thought the first one was a good deal, but then it made up for itself when I bought the second one and it did not work for me. Finally, after many months of thinking I bought a pile of junk, Pure Video put a firmware upgrade on its web site. I downloaded the update, and now the thing works better than my first Flip camcorder. It takes decent video even in birthday candle light. And, the microphone picks up sound in a room as large as a good size karate studio.
Great little camera! October 27, 2009 Grandma Judy (Milton, Florida) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed a cheap little camera that took good video of my grandkids since my children are so remiss in doing so. I thought this little camera would be good since I saw some great reviews on it and the folks were right. It is light weight, easy to carry and pull out quickly, shoots high quality video. The kids are not usually aware of you filming which gives great shots. All good so far until I used up the 2 hours of video, and I was out of town. I did not have my computer with me, so I was trapped with video that I could not download and no way to save what I had.
My son suggested I go to Staples, or Best Buy and get a flashdrive and have them download it to the flashdrive. I did that and it worked fine. Now I just carry the flash drive with me and it gives me another 2 hours of film time. You will need an 8GB flash drive for the camera since that is what is inside the camera and it will hold 2 hours of filming. Editing is cumbersome and not very well thought out in the software, but you can buy other software to edit that works better.
If you are planning on taking this camera camping, be aware that you need to be near a high tech source when the film runs out. Although 2 hours seems like a long time, it isn't.

Nifty Product October 26, 2009 Michael Ognibene (Ohio USA) This camera is easy to operate even for an old guy. There are not a lot of buttons. That makes me happy. I use it with a Mac. It downloads easily. I am able to post videos on You Tube. I am able to email short videos. I haven't tried to edit anything, so I cannot comment on that. The video & sound quality is pretty darn good.
