Flip MinoHD Camcorder November 16, 2009 J. Jones (Long Beach, CA) I received this camcorder right before I went on vacation. Its easy to use and compact. Battery life is as stated. Pictures are good, can be a litte grainy, but you get what you pay for.
HD Video in a Small Package November 16, 2009 mdsbarry So much technology in so small a package. HD video quality is outstanding. Just wish the battery life were longer.
Clever idea; terrible quality November 5, 2009 PaperChased I normally don't write reviews this bad, but this product really deserves a bad review...
I received this Flip MinoHD for Christmas last year. The concept is great: an iPod-like device that records HD video. When it works, it does this admirably. I don't think the image quality quite looks HD (grainy, and blurry), but it's more crisp than I expected from shuch a small lens. The touch buttons are finicky, and sometimes you can just lightly touch them like an iPhone, but other times you have to press down firmly as if pushing a regular button.
A couple months after I received it, the thing crashed completely. It won't turn on, and my computer won't recognize it. I tried all the reset techniques proposed by the company and others found online, and none of them work. It's a fancy paperweight now, and it's outside the mfg's 90-day warranty.
In all, I got about 30 minutes of video from this product before it crashed. Future buyers beware.
Simple with Quality November 5, 2009 J. Bonds (US Installations All Over) This digital recorder has to be the easiest product to use in its class. The picture quality is above the standard of any MPG producing device at the price that it was purchased. The best part of it is that there are no accessories required to ever be bought in support of this device. Even the most computer illiterate will be able to use the on-board programs to conduct minor edits and send videos to friends and family. The down side to this easy-to-use software suite is that it is not very powerful and will not give the wiz-bang results that the more savvy require. Overall, a great deal for anyone looking for an easy solution to get self-made videos on to your computer in a quality that is good as the old tape recordings.
Expensive disposable camera November 5, 2009 Sanjay Kalra (Rochester, MN USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought Dec 2008 - died Oct 2009. Comes with 90 day warranty but only an offer to retrieve videos after that and no repair option at all. Unreliable product, even more unreliable customer support. Stick with manufacturers who have a stake in their product - this will be a short-lived company with only a little longer lifespan than their cute but shoddy product!
