Didn't work for me. November 15, 2009 Karen C. Rogers We had purchased an Apex digital antenna for our main TV for about $ 50 and thought we would try this for our secondary TV. It only picks up one channel. Maybe it is our area, but we are returning it and will get something similar to our other antenna.
Mediocre reception November 10, 2009 Anne Tucker (Prairieville, LA United States) I can't get all the local channels in my area and I don't live that far away from them. That is the problem with digital tv, if you don't have a very strong signal, you get poor or no reception.
Great indoor antenna October 19, 2009 Bozidar (Tucson, AZ) We wouldn't need a powered antenna if it wasn't for the fact that one of our local stations decided to broadcast on the VHF frequencies instead of the normal UHF band. This unit did the trick on pulling in that station using the "rabbit ears" part of this unit. Once positioned correctly (it takes some fiddling with any indoor antenna) that VHF station came in crystal clear and with a great signal strength. All the VHF transmission signals come in much clearer than what we were getting with our former cable connection. An added plus is that we are no longer paying a cable company $60 per month to watch what we are now viewing for practically nothing. The few shows that we used to watch that are not available on the local channels ARE viewable on streaming internet connection anyway, so for us, that was a moot point.
This antenna, coupled with the Tivax converter box, was a win win situation for us. Having researched the internet for a couple weeks for the best pairing of box and antenna, we decided on this particular unit. What was surprising for us was that none of our local merchants sell this unit - not even the major electronic outlets - thank heavens for Amazon.com ... we ordered this unit (along with the Tivax converter box) and both arrived in the same box in a matter of days ... several days BEFORE the projected delivery date. That's what I call super service.
For an indoor antenna, you can't go wrong with this Tivax DT-01 unit.
Meh October 5, 2009 tim.otheus (Los Angeles) The device is of good quality, my only issue with it is that the signal was weak.
Tivax DT-01 Amplified Indoor Digital TV antenna (black) September 25, 2009 S. Hart (Florida) Very disappointed with the reception from this antenna. I will be replacing it ASAP. I must re-scan daily to receive channels and I must re-scan and move the antenna constantly to keep or get channels. Not recommended. Purchased at Amazon.
